A brave and soulful CALL TO ARMS for embracing each other.
Immediately the reader/listener is brought into a safe space to learn how to make use of our inner strength that help us not only deal with the daily frustrations and mundane aspects of our lives, but actually engage them with a spirit of gratitude.
Melanie Salvatore-August invites us to share her journey of fierce kindness by way of envisioning our struggles and challenges in life, and then treating these situational struggles (and to ALL involved, )with an intentionally kind action. The reason for this is to remind ourselves that this kindness heals our own heart-spirit while liberating others to do the same. The part of this book that I really admire is the fact that the author puts forth fierce kindness as an action- an intentional action of kindness- and she offers a plethora of different ways we can practice this kindness to ourselves in order to be of service to our world. As a fellow writer (albeit in academia) I’d like to see far more of this kind of material that engages this kind of spiritual communication- especially where we are currently in such a polemic and divisive historical moment. Fierce kindness is a brave call to arms for embracing, healing, thanking, giving and growing. Salvatore-August hits the pause button on frustration, and the snooze button of inaction. I am grateful to think of new ways to feel my way to a better way of living and being in this world- and so can you.
