Als die Feuerwehr kommt, muss Pumpernickel den mutigsten Feuerwehrmann aus den Flammen retten - und entflammt dabei in Liebe zu ihm. Sie ist so versessen darauf, ihn wieder zu sehen, dass sie keine Mittel scheut, ihn zu sich in den Wald zu locken. Als das nicht zum Ziel führt, zieht sie sogar in das Baumhaus seiner Kinder im Garten vor seinem Haus. Zuckerguss ist bekümmert: Was kann sie tun, um die Glut in Pumpernickels Herzen zu löschen und sie zur Rückkehr in den Wald zu bewegen?
