Hot and sexy
Another great audiobook by Delta James. I’m getting hooked on Delta James. This is a story of Emma & Jean Christophe Dominant Wolf shifter and a feisty woman. Loved from beginning to the end. JT Farrell was good as well.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Fascinating & Intense!
Delta James delivers another terrific book, this is my third book of hers but my first of her PNR/Fantasy genre and it is great to see another side of her creative mind. I love her imaginative spin on Vampires and Shifters, there is great character development and world building. The books starts off in London, 1816, Emma Chandler, a widow, is taken and held against her will. Sir Nickolas has plans for her and after having his way with her he decides he wants her for himself, he likes her feistiness and spirit. She goes along with it until she can escape. The story then fast forwards to the future, we meet Darby Gautier, her mate, Jean-Michel is the alpha of the shifter pack in New Orleans. Emma winds up appearing and saving Darby from some thieves, the two wind up becoming good friends. We find out Emma is now undead, a vampyr, she was changed against her will by Sir Nickolas, whom she managed to escape from. She goes with Darby and Jean-Michel and is made to feel like she is part of the family at their home, Riviere Du Loup. The next century we find Emma back in Paris, the world is a different place, there are power struggles within and one of the power grabbers is none other than Sir Nickolas. He gets his hands on Emma again but she outsmarts him once more, escaping back to America, looking for refuge there. But what she finds is much more, or rather what finds her is, Jean-Cristophe, a descendant of Darby and Jean-Michel, an alpha wolf shifter and her mate. I love how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some twists, heartfelt moments, heart-pounding ones, kinky ones and a hot romance. Delta James, thank you for another terrific story.
JT Farrell is a fabulous narrator and voice artist. He does an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with personality and attitude. You could hear how much heart he puts into her work as he captures and projects the characters emotions in to his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

Emma and Jean-Cristophe
In the beginning of the book, we have Darby Callan and Jean-Michel Gautier. Long after their deaths, Jean-Cristophe (who is their ancestor), is now the alpha of New Orleans. This book is about Emma and Jean-Cristophe. Emma could hardly stand him in the beginning and even tried to escape. She is very fiesty and also tried to fight him. You know that did not work out in her favor. Punishment aka spanking was clearly in her future. Emma is the undead and Jean-Cristophe is a wolf shifter and he is forbidden to change her but he pretty much does what he wants and he wants to change Emma to a wolf. I felt that the book ended a bit abruptly. I wanted to know if Emma was able to get pregnant and if her sire ever found her and what happened. I really enjoy Delta James’ writing style. JT Farrell is a great narrator. He did a wonderful job with voices for both Emma, Jean-Cristophe and as well as the other characters. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Exciting Post Apocalyptic shifter world!
When listening to this book, remember that it takes place in a Post Apocalyptic world where the male shifters control the females. This story has fascinating plot and character development. Poor Emma was widowed, kidnapped, changed against her will into a vampyr, and then escaped from the evil Sir Nicholas. All of this happens in a short period of time. Some of the best times in her life happen in New Orleans when she meets wolf shifters Darby and Jean-Michel who are the first friends that she has ever had. My heart went out for her because Sir Nickolas is still hunting for her, therefore she must keep moving for the safety of her friends and herself.
Hundreds of years later, Emma escapes from Sir Nickolas again and goes back to New Orleans and meets Jean-Cristophe a descendant of Darby and Jean-Michel. As a wolf shifter, he realizes that Emma is his true mate. You know that there will be wild, sexy times when a dominant alpha male and a feisty independent female clash. I found this story to be creative, heart-wrenching, heartwarming, very sexy, full of spankings, and it even has laugh out loud moments. There is never a dull moment.
JT Farrell gives another stellar performance. He immerses the listener into the story by making one feel the emotions of these characters and giving the characters distinctive voices. I highly recommend this Audible book.

This is not my first Delta James so I know what to expect and she did not disappoint. In her books, she usually has discipline in the form of the Alpha Hero spanking the strong willed heroine. This book was pretty steamy hot and I really liked the time lapse involved in the story. Until the next listen, which there will be from this author and narrator as he does a great job also.
