About this listen

Louisiana B&B owner Maggie Crozat kicks up her heels at a country music festival—but she'll have one foot in the grave if she can't bring the killer of a diva's hanger-on to heel.

Grab your tickets for Cajun Country Live!, the pickers' and crooners' answer to the legendary New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Maggie Crozat, proprietor of the Crozat Plantation B&B, plans to be in the cheering section when her friend Gaynell Bourgeois takes the stage with her band, Gaynell and the Gator Girls.

The festival's headliner, native daughter Tammy Barker, rocketed to stardom on a TV singing competition. She has the voice of an angel...and the personality of a devilish diva. But Maggie learns that this tiny terror carries a grudge against Gaynell. She's already sabotaged the Gator Girls' JazzFest audition. When a member of Tammy's entourage is murdered at the festival, Tammy makes sure Gaynell is number one on the suspect list.

Gaynell has plenty of company on that list—including every one of Tammy's musicians. Posing as a groupie, Maggie infiltrates Tammy's band and will have to hit all the right notes to clear her friend's name.

Excellent book, well worth your time. Performance as excellent as the book. Be sure and listen to the end of the book if you are a cook or an eater of fine food.

Read or listen to this book!!

Please consider finding someone who can perform the different areas in the parishes and cities you are trying talk like those who live there. I am from New Orleans and we do not sound like someone from the Carolina’s! The same is for the “Cajun” parishes. PS Milan is Mil N! Not the way the reader was pronouncing it. I know I was raised on Milan.
Thank you for listening.

I’ve been trying many cozy mysteries and this one is credit worthy

The Cajun and creole touches are authentic without being heavy handed

The mystery is credible and one of the few I didn’t figure out before the end. Or maybe I was too entranced by the food to figure it out! Either way it’s delightful

Excellent cozy mystery

I ONLY RECENTLY DISCOVERED THIS SERIES, AND I BINGE LISTENED TO ALL 7 BOOKS. THE CHARACTERS ARE SO LIKEABLE, UNLESS THE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE - HA. THE STORY LINES ARE ENTERTAINING, INCLUDING SOME LAUGH OUT LOUD MOMENTS (SO BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE USING BLUETOOTH. SOME MAY QUESTION YOUR SANITY.) THE BOOKS ARE COLORFUL WITHOUT BEING CORNY, AND THE MYSTERY IS LIKELY TO KEEP YOU GUESSING. THE READER IS GOOD. SHE HANDLES THE LOUISIANA ACCENT WELL ENOUGH. I HEARD IMPROVEMENT AS SHE PROGRESSED. I ONLY HOPE THERE ARE MORE BOOKS COMING SOON!

THIS SERIES IS A WINNER

Maybe I am just OCD, but it seems to me when such a point is made in the first book of how to pronounce the towns name, and the narrator of the first two books, gets it spot on, that a new narrator should get that point right. it seems as if someone, either the voice actor or story producer, doesn't give a damn about accuracy. It's such a shame. I stopped listening to this series.

Such a shame
