About this listen

The Leaf People travel the cosmos freely, their spirit forms not limited by physical laws. While highly attuned to the life forces of living creatures, they are blind to anything that is manufactured or altered from its natural state.

Life is being extinguished in a growing area on the far side of the Milky Way Galaxy. No one knows who or why or how, but since the Leaf People cannot sense a perpetrator, they are powerless to deal with something that must be non-living. They turn to the Empire for help. The Queen must in good conscience respond to their call, but her resources are limited, still committed to maintaining peace in the old Chessori empire. But now—six years after the end of the war—she must act. While lacking the resources to send a major fighting force, she is able to send a scouting expedition.

She selects Sir Stven and George to lead a multiyear mission. Their purpose: to discover who or what is eliminating civilizations. Just getting to Farside is a major undertaking, never before attempted by the Empire. At the very least, however, this small force will be entirely on its own, years away from help or reinforcements.

Good story narration..

I enjoyed the story. The narrator was…the voice inflection…. I realize this will improve over time. I don’t like that it’s coming. I enjoy certain narrators. Using AI will lead to less people being interested in voice overs. It will lead to AI actors in time. I’m not a fan.
