About this listen
A Native American seer and shaman pens a powerful YA novel based on a vision of an 1870s Apache battle.
In Volume Two, Falling Star, listeners follow the journey of Falling Star of a Cheyenne village in present-day Wyoming. The 14-year-old girl is taught the spiritual ways of the Cheyenne by an old shaman, Raven’s Wing. Star has a vision telling her to go to Canada, and as her group makes their way north, the white-eyes attack her tribe, killing Raven’s Wing and all of the rest. The soldiers depart and, as Star lies near death from a rifle shot, Thunder finds her and nurses her back to health.
The danger and violence continue when, on the girls’ journey together, Thunder is brutally violated by a trapper whom Star kills. They decide to turn south to search for Golden Eagle who, unknown to them, has escaped the white-eyes’ reservation to look for his beloved Thunder.

After a grizzly kills his pa, Zach struggles to survive a cold and brutal winter alone. After killing a rouge grizzly and fighting hostile Indians on his own, he becomes known as Grizzly Killer and is respected throughout the West. Along with his dog, Jimbo, whom the Indians call the Great Medicine Dog, he finds Running Wolf, an injured Ute warrior, and together they fight off a hostile war party. Story
I am afraid that I, Sherlock Holmes, must act as my own chronicler in this singular case, that of the Whitechapel murders of 1888. For the way in which the affair was dropped upon my doorstep left me with little choice as to the contrary. Not 12 months prior, the siren's call of quiet domesticity and married life had robbed me of Watson's assistance as both partner and recorder of my cases. Thus, when detective inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard required a lead - any lead - I found myself forced to pursue Jack the Ripper alone.

Story
In ancient Rome, a woman flees for her life. Hidden beneath her blue cloak are secrets men will kill for - forgeries that prove the newly self-appointed bishops are pretenders who will stop at nothing to shape this new religion to their own ends. Two thousand years later, classical archaeologists Valentina Vella and Erika Simone stumble across an ancient parchment buried deep in the Vatican archives. To reveal Julia's legacy will put them in the crosshairs of a venomous Vatican battle for power and supremacy; to stay silent would make them complicit in an ancient heresy.

In 1836, when she was nine years old, Cynthia Ann Parker was kidnapped by Comanche Indians. This is the story of how she grew up with them, mastered their ways, married one of their leaders, and became, in every way, a Comanche woman. It is also the story of a proud and innocent people whose lives pulsed with the very heartbeat of the land. It is the story of a way of life that is gone forever.

Loved it.
Wow, I don’t think I could eloquently write how amazing this novella is. It’s a really good series and I enjoyed getting to know Falling Star. How she was born and how a hard life she has had to endure. I was so happy to see Thunder make her appearance and to see both girls unite with each other. While their journey has been both sad and victorious they still have high hopes and spirits will not be crushed.
I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Strong Sequel, Compelling Characters
A sequel as strong as the first, Falling Star is well worth the listen. One of many great qualities of this series is the characters, they are impossible not to become invested in. The narration is great, and truly brings the characters to life. Eager to listen to the third book.
