Story
For better or worse - be it militarily, politically, economically, technologically, or culturally - Americans have had a profound role in shaping the wider world beyond them. The United States has been a savior to some, a curse to others, but either way such views are often based on a caricature of American actions and intentions. American foreign relations, then, is a subject of immense global importance that provokes strong emotions and much debate, but often based on deep misunderstanding.

Story
It used to be that ravaging another country’s economy required blockading its ports and laying siege to its cities. Now all it takes is a statement posted online by the U.S. government. In Chokepoints, Edward Fishman, a former top State Department sanctions official, takes us deep into the back rooms of power to reveal the untold history of the last two decades of U.S. foreign policy, in which America renounced the gospel of globalization and waged a new kind of economic war.

Good material some recording mistakes
The material is engaging and informative good preparation for the FSOT. Maybe three-five very short times during the whole audiobook the audio is doubled, and you cannot understand it or repeats itself. The narrator does a good job but they make some mistakes like saying “Barrick” Obama. Overall a positive audio experience, good for anyone who likes to learn or is studying for FSOT.

Excellent Practice Resource
This audiobook is a fantastic resource for FSOT preparation, especially with its practice test questions that feel just like the real exam. It's so thorough in fact, that it can be used as a sole source of study material, without having to buy any other textbooks. For an audiobook, I was definitely impressed!

A Chinese Scam
This book is not material covered by the FSO exam. This is a fake study guide that pretends to be real by using AI generation falsified facts, AI generated narrator who can't pronounce words correctly, lack of any editorship, and fake reviews giving this book 5 stars to promote it in the algorithms. This book is a scam creating misinformation. Do NOT buy!

Typos, mispronunciations, several liberal-bias opinions, too simplistic “practice questions”.
Typos are read as fact (ex. Ralph Waldo Emerson is credited as “Ralph Waldo”) there are several spots of double recordings and mispronunciations are in every chapter. Though most of the information seems objective there are quite a few liberal-biased opinions of Supreme Court decisions, presidential acts, and foreign policy positions. The practice questions are simplified and obvious, think fifth grade level, not like the actual FSOT. It’s too bad. I was really hoping this would be a really good resource.
