Financial Freedom is a step-by-step path to make more money in less time, so you have more time for the things you love. It challenges the accepted narrative of spending decades working a traditional nine-to-five job, pinching pennies, and finally earning the right to retirement at age 65, and instead offers listeners an alternative: Forget everything you've ever learned about money so you can actually live the life you want.

Story
We are seeing more women in the workforce than ever before, but despite reaching high-paying successful positions, women struggle with growing their wealth and maintaining finances. Most of the time, this struggle stems not from the inability to monitor and budget the money; rather, it originates from the lack of education and recourses that are available for young women or women in general. For some, financial education might be Everest, but even the most dangerous mountains can be conquered with the right information, patience, and resilience.

As a newly divorced single mom making $24,000 per year and facing down $77,000 in debt, Kumiko Love worried constantly about money. She saw what other moms had—vacations, birthday parties, a house full of furniture—and felt ashamed that she and her son lived in a small apartment and ate dinner on the floor. Worse, when her feelings began to exhaust her, she binge-shopped, reasoning that she’d feel better after a trip to the mall.

Financial control means that before you even touch your money, you know where it’s supposed to go, how you’re supposed to spend it, and when you’ll spend it. This is where budget comes in.

Everyone has an opportunity to grow their money and get out of debt, but you must start to make this a reality. Be warned, though, when your income starts to grow, it is easy to fall into temptation and start spending more than you are earning again. Refrain and continue saving and investing your money. Every small step counts. Every coin kept and invested counts. Way to basic to learn anything
Unfortunately I didn't learn anything by reading this book. It provides an oversimplified look at investing and saving. Wished it had gone into more detail and spent less time reiterating obvious points.

Disappointing with lack of analytical insight
What disappointed you about Extreme Early Retirement?
Advice was generic and was simply restatements of surface-level early retirement statements: cut expenses, live on less, etc. The narrator sounded computer generated and struggled with common financial abbreviations.
Any additional comments?
More analytical analysis of HOW to achieve early retirement, not WHY early retirement is great. Who needs to be convinced that becoming financial independent earlier has a negative side. Advice was simply too generic for anyone interested in the topic.

Spend Less, Save More!
My headline summarizes the book. I've saved you $4.99. It is not accurate to even characterize this book as "basic" or "fundamental". Do not bother purchasing it unless you are completely clueless about money.

Waste of Time
The summary of this book is spend less save more. I listened to the whole thing and kept waiting for it to get to the "good stuff" where it would tell me something that was actually profound or useful. I felt like I was listening to one of those infomercials where they keep you feeling like they're about to tell you the secret and before you know it you've wasted 45 minutes of your time and haven't truly learned anything. The only difference is there isn't a big sell at the end.

painfully obvious
How to reduce your expenditures: 1) be mindful of your expenses. How to stay busy in retirement: 1) pursue your passions . 2) travel. ... investments have risk. Get out of debt. Save more. Spend less. Don't eat out. Yep...that's about out. If you're the least bit financially literate (and you probably are if you're considering this book and reading this review) then you will be PAINFULLY bored to tears by the obvious truisms and repetition.
