Dawn breaks, but the nightmare only intensifies in the shocking finale of The Boy in the Iron Box. In a final confrontation, the true nature of the Boy is coming to light.
In a stone chamber, the familiar young figure lingers with an unsettling calm. He has a question for Liev: Do you want to stop me? Now, for two merchants of death, each with his own purpose, one last contest lies ahead.
From Academy Award–winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Encounter, chapter six of The Boy in the Iron Box, a blood-chilling serialized novel about an ancient secret that was never meant to be unleashed, featuring exclusive interior artwork. Story
Martin Lorensen is a twenty-three-year-old counselor for disturbed teenagers. He’s bright, compassionate, attractive, and outgoing. He’s also—and this is the most interesting thing—not dead. Martin has improbably survived not one but two deadly disasters that claimed dozens of lives. The kid is riding one hell of a lucky streak. Two federal agents think there is something darker at play. Now that they’ve arranged to interview Martin, they want answers. Martin is ready to share everything he knows. One thing is for certain: when it comes to escaping death, luck doesn’t figure into it at all.

It has also greatly added to existing genres like science fiction, horror, and—a personal favorite of editor Jonathan Maberry—weird mystery stories. Or, as they became known—occult detective tales.

China thought it would be a quick war, an easy war. But now, years later, as the insurgency on the streets of Los Angeles escalates but the propaganda never changes, a Chinese officer can’t keep silent any longer. Torn between loyalty to his country and loyalty to his troops, he writes a brutally honest—and possibly suicidal—letter home to unmask the truth. Brooks combines his signature meticulous research with unforgettable characters in this landmark work of speculative fiction.

Dark Adventure Radio Theatre presents Robert E. Howard's tale of horrors in Eastern Europe in a 1930s-style radio drama. Charlie Tower seeks refuge from the horrors of the Great War in Berlin's most notorious nightclubs. There a chain of events is set in motion that will lead him across Europe to investigate the mysterious Black Stone. Is it merely a creation of superstitious peasants, or is it a nexus for hideous gods of the ancient world to set foot into ours?

THE PERFORMANCE OMG
I loved this series. It’s so well written, well told, well narrated, EVERYTHING, I mean, I knew I would love it simply because Guillermo Del Toro, but wow. It was so short, but it felt so perfect. The ending??? Are you KIDDING ME. I also need to say that when I tell you I loved the performance, I’m serious, I LOVED the performance,

Thrilling
I read all six of the books. I thought the storyline was amazing. It kept you engaged with each book. I became quite involved and part of the book. The performance of the Rita was excellent. His voice was perfect for the narration. This series kept me on edge. I don't know if I would want to read another like this one. It was good well written.

Aww man!
So the finale was good, but I feel it let me down. I think the time taken to explain “The Boy” took over the action that should have been considered for the actual ending. Even the time it took for Levi to prepare for the Final Boss was fast, but it fooled me. It made me think the battle was going to be epic. Nope.
Without giving away any spoilers, I have to say that the fight was quick. The actual end was one of those, “Aww man” kinda moments. That part didn’t hurt, but all that lead up to it was a bummer. Still a cool series.

That voice!
I love when stories switch up the voices, esp when it's a different, disembodied voice, like the boy's. This was my favorite book out of the whole series. It could've been a single book, but I'm fine with the way it was sectioned up. Quick read, I finished this whole series in a single night. Loved it, can't wait to read more like this. 💙
