About this listen
The conclusion of the first Empire trilogy.
The Council Revolt has started. The Council has struck at the Throne.
As the Council plots to place their own candidate on the Throne, a single survivor is dragged out of the fires burning in the Imperial Residence.
Hoping to take advantage of the capital’s chaos, enemies internal and external move against the Empire.
With enemies without and within, can the new ruler hope to save the Sintaran Empire?

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Quicker is a near-future SciFi/Thriller whose young heroine, Ell Donsaii, is an intrepid athletic phenom who reminds one of David Weber's Honor Harrington. Like Stieg Larsson's Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Ell is also a mathematical genius who, instead of counting sheep, works on her own theory of quantum mechanics to help her drift off to sleep. At once shy and concerned about her social skills, yet well loved by those around her, she finds herself at the center of a terrorist plot at the Olympics.

Great series
Really enjoyed this series so far. I liked the fact that it does not focus on the military action but more the political aspect and the decision making.
