Story
In the fall of 1993, the quiet suburb of Harting Farms is shocked when children begin to vanish, and one is found dead near December Park - a great, sweeping expanse that is sunken below the streets and surrounded on three sides by vast woodlands, a place children believe is haunted. Newspapers call the abductor the Piper because he has come to lead children away, while kids whisper darker names for him in the school halls. Angelo Mazzone and his friends discover a link to the dead girl and take up the search for the killer.

Story
One Christmas Eve in a small hollow in Boone County, West Virginia, struggling songwriter Jesse Walker witnesses a strange spectacle: seven devilish figures chasing a man in a red suit toward a sleigh and eight reindeer. When the reindeer leap skyward, taking the sleigh, devil men, and Santa into the clouds, screams follow. Moments later, a large sack plummets back to earth, a magical sack that thrusts the down-on-his-luck singer into the clutches of the terrifying Yule Lord, Krampus.

It’s the mid-'90s. Grunge and flannel are fading as the Spice Girls and Hot Topic conquer the malls. Cherry gloss glistens on the lips of the youth. Modems hiss as America comes online. And in a fog-drenched cove at the edge of New England, something terrible awakens when a fisherman reels in a gruesome catch: the remains of a young woman. Remains still pulsing with furious life.

Short Stories of Darkness
If you like stories that are creepy, strange and dark, then this book is highly recommended.
But since this book is just a collection of short stories, I ended up feeling teased. Like each story left me hanging and wanting more.
The narration was good and it certainly gave me the chills in some parts.

Another great collection
Definitely worth a listen. Although the stories are quick, none are that scary. They remind me more of good campfire quickies that will make you think and maybe disturb your sleep. I hate bugs and there's a few buggy ones, ewwwwww.
My only critique is with the narrator. There were times I couldn't tell the difference between a male or female character. Other than that it was fine as an audiobook.

Another Good Collection by Blakey-Novis
Good collection of haunting short stories. I am really hard pressed to say which one was my favorite. Each one offered up something unique and I thought as a collection they were pretty solid. The nice thing is I didn't find them over the top gruesome just for the sake of gore. They were well thought out and excellently executed.
David Sweeney-Bear did a great job with the narration. I loved his character's voices, the cadence he used, and the overall energy he put into each story. I am really enjoying that P.J. Blakey-Novis keeps using Sweeney-Bear as his narrator. I really thinks he brings these stories to life.

Chilling
Loved all these stories almost as much as I did the ones in Tunnels. A few of these stories had predictable endings, but the rest were wicked and suspenseful. Dreamcatcher was my favorite piece on this audiobook, and the narration was just wonderful.

Great Short Stories!
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author for an honest review.
Here's another batch of pull-you-in-and-get-you-wowing-about-what-just-happened kinda stories. What can I say? This is a great author who knows how to write some creepy stuff! His stories are entertaining, attention holders, and you'll never want them to end.
As I stated in my review for "Tunnels," the narrator did a great job! I'd definitely listen to him narrator again, especially anything written by Mr. Blakey-Novis.
