About this listen
Falcon Hyatt has a problem. For reasons unknown to him, he can wield all the elements, not only basics like fire and water but also those more advanced, like space and poison. Now the chaos element, the same one his parents' killer, Shal-Volcseck, wields, has awakened within him, with catastrophic results. To complicate matters, the Suteckh Empire has declared war on the capital cities of Va'siel.
Now he must venture out into the world with his friends, Lao, Faith, and Aya, on a mission to stop the Suteckh from taking over Va'siel, and find his parents' killer. All the while he struggles to suppress his newfound abilities. In his quest Falcon is forced to question what he's really fighting for, where his loyalties lie, and his own character. Is he truly a good person or an even more dangerous menace than the dreaded Shal-Volcseck? Element Wielder is the story of faith, love, and a young man's struggle to continue on his quest when surrendering to his emotions and giving up is so much easier.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Before Miss Peregrine gave them a home, the story of peculiars was written in the Tales. Wealthy cannibals who dine on the discarded limbs of peculiars. A fork-tongued princess. These are but a few of the truly brilliant stories in Tales of the Peculiar - the collection of fairy tales known to hide information about the peculiar world, including clues to the locations of time loops - first introduced by Ransom Riggs in his number-one best-selling Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series.

has potebtial
the overall story has potential. The author takes a little bit of the last Airbender and Harry potter, along with others, and makes a decent story. however it seems rushed. alot of details are looked over and time skips in various places

Good story, ok natrative
In general I like the audio books with multiple performers doing the different parts. There was nothing in particular wrong with the male who read, but I don't like one person doing all the parts especially when a male tries to read a female voice. It's much better for the story to have an entire ensemble cast of characters reading the different parts. I found it very distracting to the story to here the narrator reading female parts. The story was very compelling and interesting and it ended with me wanting to hear more

Element Wielder-great book
Would you consider the audio edition of Element Wielder to be better than the print version?
To be truthful, I have never had anyone read to me, the story and voice was great, but I still love to read the book on my own.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't have a favorite character, the whole book kept me captivated and I fell in love with all the characters in the story.
Which character – as performed by David A. Conatser – was your favorite?
I thought he did a great job on everyone of the characters. I didn't have a favorite.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed a lot through the story.
Any additional comments?
This book is a must for those who have already read the book. Listening to someone perform the reading was spectacular. But as I said before, I enjoy reading the books better then listening to them. Overall you get a 10 from me on the storytelling.

A decent start
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Hmm I think so. The story base of the story was good but the character need a bit of work.
Would you be willing to try another book from Cesar Gonzalez? Why or why not?
From this series yes. Another maybe. The writhing feels a bit to juvenile with overuse of stereotypes it make to story very transparent.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of David A. Conatser?
No, sorry but his voice annoys me more then a bit.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Maybe, would depend who is in it.
Any additional comments?
Most of the characters fell in to an over stereotypical archetype. The good looking shunned hero, the weird looking smart friend, the common born power hungry friend, the "Snape" professor, the list goes on. A few like this are safe but to many and it almost fell like it follows set scrip that you know what happens chapters before hand.

awsome idea! poor delivery.
I love the idea of the story (world), add maybe 5 hrs to the book with back story on main characters, and I'm in! much improvement needed, but...... I love the idea. I will check out the next book, but please make it longer, with more back story, take your time, this can be an amazing story! I look forward to the next one! sorry for the low stars, but I think this could become one of the grates if done right!!! good luck, I look forward to the next book!
