About this listen
Could a cold case hold the key to a brutal murder?
Spring 1930. In the quiet streets of Craynebrook, a sinister presence lurks in the shadows, ready to pounce on the unsuspecting women of the suburban London town. After every attack, the assailant disappears into the night, leaving behind no trace, no witnesses, and no clues for Detective Inspector Matthew Stannard to follow.
Until one attack turns deadly and a reporter suggests a connection with an unsolved local murder, opening up a new avenue of investigation which, Matthew hopes, will give him the lead he so desperately needs.
But with a long list of suspects and a dearth of tangible evidence, Matthew’s confidence in his ability to find the killer wavers.
Does the truth lie buried in the past? Or will digging into an old murder put other women at risk?
Book 2 in the DI Matthew Stannard historical murder mystery series.

AWESOME
This was sensational! I loved all the twists and turns. There were many possible suspects, but I never figured out whodunit until it was revealed. Just as my heart rate was returning to normal there was an oh my moment at the end. I'm dangling in limbo wondering what will happen next. This was very well done. Intensely compelling and gripping listen. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a phenomenal job with voices and characters bringing the story to life. I highly recommend this one.

Another Great British Murder Mystery
This book takes up where the previous one left of with the men going to trial. I like the author tied the books together and he does the same at the end of this one too. Good Mystery, good investigations and glad the superintendent has started soften a bit. Narrator does a very good job with the various characters and the Entire Storyline.

Outstanding historical mystery!
This is a great second book in the DI Matthew Stannard mystery series by CK Harewood. Women are being attacked and as the investigation continues, it becomes clear that these assaults are similar to an old unsolved murder. Twists and turns in the plot and edge of your seat suspense until the last minute! And then… The narration by Michael Langan is wonderful. He uses unique voices for each character and creates the appropriate atmosphere for the mystery story. Can’t wait for the next book!
