About this listen

First, Coffeezilla torpedoes my career as a barista.
Then he dangles my dream job like a carrot on a stick.
So what do I do? Make a deal with the devil.

I learned the hard way: trust no one.
That’s why I’m stuck serving lattes in the first place.
Then Trent Saunders, aka Satan, waltzes in.

Mr. Hot Shot is too busy barking into his phone to stop and read.
Is it my fault he missed the big DO NOT USE sign on the table?
OK, maybe I shouldn’t have laughed when he spilled coffee all over himself.
But he deserved it.

And for that the Table Tyrant got me fired!
At least I got the last word. Or so I thought…

Because it turns out, this gorgeous grump is the answer to my professional prayers.
He wants me to design high-end furniture for his grandmother.
A sweet old woman who mistakes me for his girlfriend.

And does this genius bosshole correct her?
No! He asks me to play along!
Which means I’m stuck fake dating a man I loathe.

What’s even more annoying? He might not be a total villain.
He’s actually kind of sweet. Sometimes.
But I’m not about to fall for his whole “good guy’ routine.

I mean, what kind of a woman would I be if I fell for a bosshole?

Designed for Disaster is a laugh-out-loud billionaire bosshole rom-com brimming with enemies-to-lovers tension, fake dating antics, and grumpy-sunshine vibes. With sizzling chemistry, sharp banter, and plenty of heart, this story is as addictive as your favorite latte—steamy, bold, and impossible to put down!

🎧🎧I took full advantage of having all 3 of the Manhattan Bosshole ALCs in my library and binge listened to their stories in about 4 days or so and I really enjoyed the binge. I loved the Nana Dee story arc and also the connection or MMCs had to each other and Nana Dee. (read/listen to these stories and find out why LOL) 🎤Chloe Ryan & Sebastian Grove🎤 were both new-to-me narrators and I really enjoyed them both! I couldn’t listen to them at the same speed so that was a little twitchy for me, but that’s not something that they can do anything about since it’s a listener preference. As a first time listener to them both, they impressed me. I tend to te “like what I like” so new narrators sometimes have a hard time about it with me, but I enjoyed these two and they made this story that much better for me!

📚📚This story turned out to be a lot more “heartwarming” than I expected, especially after the beginning set-up! Their first encounter is anything but friendly or romantic LOL! I don’t know if I’d refer to their first encounter as a meet-cute because it was anything but “cute” but it did have me thinking, “well done Leslie North. Nice imagination!” It set me up to know that I was in for a highly entertaining story, with substance of course. I had learned already learned from the previous 2 books how much impact Leslie wrote into her stories, so I didn’t expect it to just be a “comedy”, but I was taken by surprise at the level of depth and emotion I felt throughout the story. I can’t really tell you why or pin-point the plot-points that caused this because, spoilers, but also because it was an overall feeling. Like the story was wrapped in a huge hug full of heart and hope. *shakes head* This is one you’ll have to read to get all the nuances I’m referring to, and it will be worth it!

😞😔NOTE: I am never going to be a “fan” of the usage of miscommunication as a plot device for conflict between adults. Yes, miscommunications happen all the time between adults, but when your characters have too many of those miscommunications in the short amount of time the story usually takes place and you want me, the reader, to believe the MCs will be riding off into the sunset despite all that “badly behaving adult shenanigans”, we have ourselves a situation. Feel me? This story walked a fine line with this and I can’t say I liked it too much. *shrug*

This is the third book in the Manhattan Bossholes Series and I absolutely loved it! Natasha and Trent were great characters. I loved having more time with Nana D in this book. She is such a fun character and I just love how Trent and the Lost Boys take such good care of her and the love they have for her.

The narrators Chloe Ryan and Sebastian Grove did a great job telling this story. They held my attention and kept me entertained through the entire book. I felt like I really knew the characters from how they told this story.

Natasha works as a barista at a coffee shop when Coffeezilla blows through and gets her fired. Her side job is creating and building furniture so when someone emails her about doing some work she jumps at the chance since she lost her other job. Well surprise surprise coffeezilla is there to offer her a dream job. Does she make a deal with the devil? It's better then working 3 jobs. Oh boy let the fun bantering beginning!!!

Trent is CEO of Saunders Furniture. He is a grump on the outside but he does have a big heart when it comes to his Nana D. His life hasn't been easy. He has a lot of family trauma and because of that it will make one part of this book frustrating. I was disappointed in how he reacted and everyone around him new the truth but him and that was just frustrating and a little unbelievable to me but don't let that both you because what comes after is worth it all.

I loved getting to know these characters and this series. I had so many laugh out moments, blushing moments, I was swooning and I was left with a beautiful ending. I would highly recommend this book and this series!

LOVED this series!!!

Designed For Disaster is an enemies to lovers romance. Natasha & Trent seem good together, I like them as a couple.

The beginning of the audiobook was really, it had me laughing so hard. The drawing was another super funny part. I liked everything about this book, it was cute, steamy and so funny.

Chloe Ryan and Sebastian Grove did a bang up job bringing these characters to life and the world around them.

So Funny

Its official. Trent & Natasha are my favorite Manhattan Bossholes couple. They didn't have a meet cute at all, rather an enemy at first meet not so cute (yes, I'm making that a thing), and I adored how they battled one another until the end. Their banter was hilarious and it was only a matter of time before it turned into more with the sparks simmering under the surface.

Sebastian Grove and Chole Ryan were a blast to listen to. They really brought the enemies out, but when Trent & Natasha started to fall for one another they brought the sweet and swoony too. I absolutely loved the was Sebastian said Natasha with that New York accent. Chloe as Natasha and her fierce, take no crap attitude was perfection.

And we can't forget Nana Dee because, let's be honest, she's the real star of the show. Her and her lost boys all got their HEA's and it made my heart so incredibly happy that she was around to see them all succeed and find love.

My favorite of the series!

The narrators did a good job.
The lost boys are back this is Trent's story. Trent meets Natalie at the barista she works at and they have an altercation which leads her into losing her job. I'm really enjoying these stories. Love the family grandma everyone loves. I really like how these arrogant boys who think everyone should fear them but they each have met women who don't take it. The bantering between characters are entertaining. Love how these guys are there for each other when needed. I find it entertaining and never want it to end and look forward to the next one.

Leslie North's Design for Disaster, narrated by Chloe Ryan and Sebastian Grove, is a delightful journey from instant loathing to unexpected love. This romantic comedy plunges us into the chaotic first encounter between Natasha, a talented furniture designer stuck in a barista job, and Trent Saunders, the "Coffeezilla" who accidentally torpedoes her career. Their initial meeting is a hilarious clash of personalities, leaving Natasha convinced Trent is nothing short of arrogant and obnoxious. And honestly, who could blame her after he gets her fired over a spilled coffee?

Yet, as fate would have it, this "gorgeous grump" turns out to be the answer to Natasha’s professional prayers. Trent needs a high-end furniture designer for his grandmother, and despite their rocky start, Natasha is the perfect fit. The plot truly thickens when Trent’s sweet, albeit mistaken, grandmother assumes Natasha is his girlfriend, leading to a fake dating scenario that’s both exasperating and undeniably charming.

The story moves at a brisk pace, blending the fake relationship trope with genuine emotional family drama and business challenges. It’s particularly enjoyable to see Trent shed his "villain" facade and reveal a surprisingly sweet, caring side, especially through his interactions with characters from previous books in the series. This allows Natasha—and the reader—to see beyond his initial gruff exterior.

Watching Trent confront his past demons, make crucial decisions, and ultimately embrace true love makes for a truly engaging read. Chloe Ryan and Sebastian Grove’s narration brings Natasha and Trent's personalities to life, making their bickering and eventual connection even more compelling. If you enjoy a quick, funny romance with a strong fake-relationship plot and a dose of emotional growth, Design for Disaster is definitely worth picking up.

I listened to books 1 and 2 and really enjoyed both—book 1 especially hooked me. The characters, world-building, and narration were all top-notch. While this third book still had a lot to love, it lost a little bit of its mojo for me. The story had me engaged until it reached the obligatory breakup moment, which is one of my personal pet peeves. The narration remained excellent throughout.

Book 3 was good until...

Trent, the CEO of the furniture business of the group, gets his story and it was pretty cute. When he first met Natasha, it definitely not a meet cute but when his grandmother mistakenly assumes they are together, he would do anything to make her happy. The narrators were well done. It was fun and charming to listen to.
