About this listen

My itchy feet drug me to the ATL one night for a light flirt, but I didn't get me no R and R. 'Stead, I found a hobo, a ghost, and a trio of vampires, and me with my best weapons locked in the trunk of my daddy's car.

That'll learn me to drive down to the city, if I made it off the Gold Line alive.

Sunny gets onto a train and without her weapons. When she looks around she sees a ghost and knows that trouble is afoot. Then a couple of guys get onto the train and Sunny knows that they are vampires. One tries to flirt and the other is a trouble maker that the ghost tries to warn Sunny about. Sunny ends up fighting one of the vampires and it ends up being the one that killed the girl ghost. The ghost leaves the train and the head vampire thanks Sunny for taking him out. Just another crazy day in the life of Sunny Walkingstick. Love this series!

Sunshine needed a night off but the world had other plans. A fun short that shows why it just doesnt pay to visit the ATL.

short and sweet

This is a dynamite short story, and a great addition to Sunshine Walkingstick's world!
It's simply tons of fun as Sunshine tries to work out what her options are in a train car that's mostly empty...  except for the ghost, 3 vampires, a homeless person, and a young woman... Where are the weapons when you need them?!?!?

Rebecca Winder once again gives voice to Sunshine,  rounding out her character with that lovely Southern Appalachian accent!

I love Sunshine Walkingstick...

Sunshine has been through a lot lately. She gets a feeling that she must go to Atlanta. While she minding her business she gets approached by three vampires. I think this short is good way in introducing new characters. I cannot wait to see what happens with the favor is owned to Sunshine. I needed this short but now I am ready to experience more Sunshine.

Maybe this is introducing a new arc to the series

I purchased and listened to this book on Audible books.
This is a very Good short story of a train ride on the Subway on what was to be a night out to relax and play pool. Narrator as usual did a wonderful job.

A Good Short Story in the Walkingstick Series

Sunny short story. Riding on train in what may or may not be Atlanta metro area. No clue when it takes place in timeline of series. Most of it is a physical fight, but with a little twist at the end. BUT it’s concise and doesn’t have her fake belittling herself, which is refreshing. If she’s so badass on supernaturals, has the confidence to take them on, then it’s inconsistent to belittle herself. Hope Ms Roman fazes that out if she plans to continue the series. I’ve listened to books 2&3, also, and book 1 is on my get to list.
Ms Winder IS wonderfully consistent in her narration.

Short story, but no context in timeline
