Great intro!

Any additional comments?

This was a great intro into a whole new world by a new writer ( for me) ! So far I have read 3 in this series and I think they are must reads! Yes it is a vampire book but yet a dystopian novel and nothing like twilight! The action, the passion, its just WOW!

In the Beginning!

I thank you Julie for giving the "The Immortal Rules," book a beginning! Dawn of Eden answered all my questions that were not answered in book first book. I really enjoyed reading it, oops, listening to it. It could have been a litttttle bit longer, :-)

Can't wait for the 4th to come out.

Nice Prequel

The title says it all. It was nice to see how the "Immortal Rules" world came to be and those who tried to escape such a fate. My only warning to those who read "Immortal Rules" because it's YA--there's a descriptive scene of "intimacy" that I'm mature enough to listen to, but was still startled to hear after a...relatively YA series.

Till the end of the World? Really?

I loved this story for it's own sake. It wasn't the best in the world in originality although I do give it 5*'s in not being you're typical Zombiequien/Smutmance. It has a unique concept and interesting creatures I haven't read about before. Hard find for me.
If you're here for the romance it's hot and good. If you're here for the Apocalypse it's as typical as you'd expect: virus takes down modern society.
If you're here for the combination then it's gonna really please you. They blend well in this book, and if you're a narrator junkie then you already know Terese Plumber is amoung the best in female leads of this genere.
My biggest let down was when "Till the End of the World" was uttered at one point in the story. If you've read many books in the Zombiequien/Smutmance genere then you KNOW why I'm saying that.
If you truly enjoy this book and it's sequels, go from here to All the Stars in the Sky also narrated by Terese Plumber.

You'll absolutely love those, with a side series narrated by another all time great male lead Luke Daniels.

Beginning of the End

This book drew me in right away because I can relate to the hospital/clinic setting. It made me think about if something drastic like this were to happen while I was at work in the hospital. All the carnage and devastation. Kylie is a doctor trying to help the sick and dying from a virus plague like thing. Everyone else has panicked and bailed on her. Then a newcomer brings in a wounded patient from the outside. Little do they know, this patient could mean the death of all of them in worse ways than the virus. The newcomer, Ben, and Kylie form a close bond from working together trying to survive. It is a fight for their lives, literally. There are things that defy anything science has ever known. And Kylie seems to be the only person to ever survive the virus. I don’t want to ruin it but if you like dystopian type books with vampire creatures and plagues, you will love this. I can’t wait to start the next book and I’m really curious about the mysterious stranger with dark eyes who helped them on their journey then disappeared. He seems to hold the key and answers for what has taken place. There was research being done to try and cure the virus but it seems to have made things worse. The book ended at a good point so it wasn’t really a cliff hanger. Hang on for an intense ride!

Great prequel!

Where does Dawn of Eden rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the top, along with the rest of the BLOOD OF EDEN series.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved getting a first hand account of the world right after the Red Lung disease wipes out much of humanity & the beginnings of rabidism and the spread of the virus. I also enjoyed Ben & Kylie's relationship, along with the seemingly irreparable father-son relationship between Ben & his dad.

Which scene was your favorite?

Then here are so many for such a short book, but I think the part when Ben's stubborn dad doesn't listen to Ben & Kylie and disaster ensues was the best part of the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Red Lung Disease & Rabidism: When S@#$ Hits the Fan!"

Any additional comments?

This was a well-written, well preformed to prequel and I really enjoyed the insight of how both diseases began to destroy Earth as we know it. I wish it had been longer and I would suggest outright purchasing the audiobook instead of spending a whole credit on it. It cost less than $4 and it was well worth every penny. Highly recommended!

A background story after you enjoyed the series:)

A short background on the orginal series. I originally bought this a long time ago but never got to it but let me tell you I suggest you wait to listen to this until after you listened to the whole series. It's not neccessary but it is nice to have as n extension to go back to. I only wish the last 2 books of the full series would continue because they are spectacular a!!!!

Terrifying and exhilarating!

I hate zombies. Can't watch any zombie movies because I will have nightmares for weeks afterwards, and even though Kagawa writes with such visual intensity, I loved this book. Well, more of a love-hate feeling when associated with this book.
The narrator was fantastic and had such much in her voice which made the book seem more realistic. The writing was superb and drew the reader or listener in within the first few lines. As I stated before, the love-hate feelings regarding this book, I will explain. Since I hate zombies, this book absolutely terrified me, but now I'm hooked and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. Who is this mysterious 'K' man, and obviously he's a vampire, but what does he have coming up in the next books? The romance in the book was overshadowed by the action and terror, so if you're looking for hot and steamy, this isn't it, but if you want something that is action packed and terrifying, you've got it all in this one book.
