About this listen
Austin is a young man unprepared for a life-shattering experience. His deceased father, whom he never really knew, has left him a million dollars, with the promise of five million more if Austin meets strict conditions.
He must invest the one million dollars and earn 15% a year for three years. But in doing so, he could easily lose the million.
Play it safe?
Take the million and run.
Or risk it all, and go for the five million?
What will Austin do?
What would you do?
A powerful novel by a Wall Street veteran based on his 29 years of experience. Through this story, the author reveals his proven investment principles, which he has taught and practiced around the world.

Story
If there's one lesson Oren Klaff has learned over decades of pitching, presenting, and closing long-shot, high-stakes deals, it's that people are sick of being marketed and sold to. Most of all, they hate being told what to think. The more you push them, the more they resist. What people love, however, is coming up with a great idea on their own, even if it's the idea you were guiding them to have all along. Often, the only way to get someone to sign is to make them feel like they're smarter than you.

In 2015, Arlan Hamilton was on food stamps and sleeping on the floor of the San Francisco airport, with nothing but an old laptop and a dream of breaking into the venture capital business. She couldn’t understand why people starting companies all looked the same (white and male), and she wanted the chance to invest in the ideas and people who didn’t conform to this image of how a founder is supposed to look. Hamilton had no contacts or network in Silicon Valley, no background in finance - not even a college degree. What she did have was fierce determination and the will to succeed.

James Caan is one of Britain's most successful entrepreneurs. Dropping out of school at just sixteen, he started his business life with no qualifications and two pieces of advice: 'Observe the masses and do the opposite' and 'Always look for opportunities where both parties benefit'. Armed with just his father's wisdom, his own unique charm and the Yellow Pages, James Caan built a market-leading business with a turnover of more than #130 million from a broom cupboard.

GREAT. BOOK!
Absolutely love the storyline & “packaging” of a potentially boring (to me in the past) topic like stocks & finances and made it come alive. It really has opened my eyes to a topic COMPLETELY foreign to me & actually ignited a passion for what the right strategy can possibly accomplish financially in the short time that I am here….Thank you!
