When Dara Vance found out she’d been chosen for an exclusive opportunity to research a newly-discovered island in the south Pacific, she couldn’t believe her luck. She and her fellow interns traveled halfway across the world, arriving at the mysterious Wells Institute, thrilled at the prospect of spending the summer on an exotic beach and maybe discovering a new species that could bolster their chances for big-time college scholarships. But things took a sudden turn, and before Dara and her fellow interns know it, their research vessel is sinking, the Institute members have disappeared, and they’re fighting to stay alive.
No one knows where they are. No one is coming to help them. It’s up to the girls to make it to dry land, find what they need to survive, and improve their chances of being rescued. The island they encounter, however, may have other ideas. Strange occurrences, and even stranger creatures, seem to be lurking everywhere. And over and over again, Dara hears a mantra she doesn’t understand…
