About this listen
Crimson Templars. Urban warriors dedicated to a centuries-long cause to kill all supernatural threats to humanity; no matter the cost. But what if the cost is your very own humanity?
Matilda “SageFire” Brunel, is a ranked Vampire Hunter in the Crimson Templar Order. Renowned for her battle prowess, vast array of weapons, and unwillingness to work with others; she is a one woman army.
But what she isn’t is a teacher. Not anymore, at least. A monster can’t be a teacher, can they?
Hotshot Novice Hunter in training, Norbert Morford is going to put that question to the test. Friendly, analytical, and tenacious, he won the right to ask the Order for one request. He requested to be partnered with the antisocial and reclusive Vampire Hunter, SageFire.
By choosing her, is Norbert playing with fire? Or will he learn what it truly means to be a hunter?
A rookie and a veteran team up for a simple mission. But no mission ever goes as planned. In Elderwood City, even angels cry.

NOTE: This book contains mature themes.

Vampire hunters clash with supernatural threats!
Crimson Templars by A. Adeshile is a thrilling dive into the MoonWatch Universe, where vampire hunters clash with supernatural threats. Amanda Dunlap's narration breathes life into this dark, action-packed tale, making it a captivating listen. “What if the cost is your very own humanity?” — a question that lingers as seasoned warrior SageFire and rookie Norbert team up for a mission that may change everything.

Excellent Story Set in a Well-developed Universe
I'm an author too, so was hesitant to take on book reviews from other authors, because I would hate to dis them if I didn't like. I was worried for no reason here as this story is extremely engaging on multiple levels.
The hero is a stone-cold killer—of monsters. She works for a military agency in charge of monster hunting worldwide and is one of their best. Although she has a deep-seated psychological need to work alone, when a newbie recruit is suddenly thrust under her wing, (after trying to get rid of the responsibility) she learns to appreciate his warrior attributes.
Along the way, she has some soul-searing moments, but her hard-won professionalism is always evident. The monsters themselves are surprisingly well-fleshed out and three-dimensional, as is her armory, her vehicle, even her relationship with "Dispatch" who is so well-written, she also becomes an important part of the action.
The student/teacher relationship at the story's heart is always entertaining. There are some surprising twists along the way, but I found it easy to suspend disbelief and simply ride along with these two during their adventure.
This was such a refreshing find of an obviously talented young writer, his lack of reviews makes me believe he is more comfortable writing, than marketing. I found it easy to rate "Shadows of the Hunt" five stars and hope this review encourages others to pick up a fast-paced, original, and always entertaining military/monster/adventure. After finishing in short order I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
PS> Finding the right narrator was my toughest search and biggest find, so kudos to this author for doing the work to find the perfect person to tell this tale.

Great story too much fluff
The narrator was ok. The story was ok. I feel like it could have been much shorter but there is ALOT of random, unimportant and irrelevant inner monologuing. I spent most of the time thinking I wish I had pages to hurry and skip past. It drug on way too long. Outside of that it was a really good story.

An Interesting Follow Up to the Prequel
Loved the Prequel, was not so muchwith this book. I was more like a one person unemotional reservation of an event. The premise was good and the point of view from a different group from the Prequel. Maybe it was the narrator's reading, but it did not come out as a story. Need a different narrator, this one came across as just reading a boring book, lacked personality behind the narration.

fantastic
i enjoyed this short story! i thought the characters were easy to connect with! the story was good, and went into a world the author had created in other short stories, so the world was already built quite well! the narrator was ok, but i have preferred others the author used better. (that liked all things is a personal opinion). i did enjoy the story. and look forward to other stories in the authors world, this story was given to me by story origin to read voluntarily, all my opinions & thoughts are my own!

Pretty Good
I enjoyed this story, largely because of the world building aspects involved. Vampires are always a favorite genre for me and all that it entails. The length was a bit of a problem and I think this would have benefited from either being longer and more detailed or shorter and cut off after the initial battle. It's essentially a version of the "crusty old veteran breaks in rookie" trope, with a female as the veteran (not my favorite device because it is not common sense). I did think the character development was good and I hope there is more on the way because there is such potential.

action packed
I was actually impressed the detail in this story was great!! All of the weapons descriptions were accurate which shows the depth of study that I feel the author did ....including the use of dragons breath which I feel shows the depth of investigation that must have gone into this story. Thank you for a great story

Amazing
Crimson Templars by A. Adeshile is amazing. Amanda Dunlap is the best fit for the narrator, she brings the story to life and keeps you motivated in the moment. The story is interesting, incredibly, engaging, entertaining, action packed, and much more. It has it all post- apocalyptic world, paranormal creatures, magic, and hunters. A great overall story.
