I have been listening to audio books for over ten years. This is the first time I thought a book was so bad I wanted to write a review about it. The story line is not bad but the characters are very two dimensional and not believable. And the reader is THE worst I have heard to date. He must have thought he was getting paid extra for dramatic pauses because they are everywhere and usually not where one would actually apply. The best point in this book for me was when it ended and I did not have to suffer any more. Four thumbs down.

A first for me

I have to agree completely with the other reviewer. I found myself wincing at points in the story. The plot line was promising. But, the dialog and characters were just awful. The reader is the worst that I've heard. He attempts to give a voice to each character. But, they aren't always the same voice. I have had several problems figuring out who was saying what. The few characters that have accents (Russian, Irish...) might or might not have the accent at any given moment. And I can't put enough emphasis on the awful dialog. Saying it is two dimensional is being kind. When we are subjected to hearing what the characters are thinking is when we really hit bottom for the dialog.

I am about 75% of the way through the book and don't know if I will finish it. That would be a first. I want to keep going. I just don't know if I can subject myself to it.

Just awful
