About this listen
Does your life suck? Need a helping hand?
When Shaun’s life continues to go from bad to worse, he is offered the chance to escape into an epic game world. One with the power to repair his mind and body while he lives out his wildest dreams.
What could possibly go wrong?
It turns out fighting monsters and obesity is tough wherever you are! Then there’s the unrequited love. Weren’t the women supposed to fall head over heels with the hero? Not in Anatoli, a brutal and unforgiving land on the brink of apocalypse.
If Shaun can survive this very real experience, he might just get to be a hero back in the real world!
Introducing Condition Evolution, the updated and re-edited second edition. It's finally here and it has evolved!

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate. Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as "The Continent". An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated Earth into its System. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true, like living out a dream. In the year 2107, the world has both made astounding leaps forward and reduced humanity to its most basic existence. While the megacorps and those who rule them enjoy lives of extraordinary comfort and ease, most people barely scrape by, doing whatever they can to keep going. Juliet Bianchi is one of the latter. She works cutting metal in a scrapyard and doesn't have much to show for it except for a small group of equally bereft, fiercely loyal friends. Still, she maintains a bright disposition, possessing more hope and optimism than anyone would expect her to—and she's going to need it.

That was actually very good
Got this audio book for free as part of a giveaway and ended up really enjoying it. Am about to buy the next one even though I feel like it's a bit short for the price. Definitely recommend.

Disjointed
It just seems to jump from plot A to plot G. The story didn’t seem to flow.

Fantastic
This is a new author for me. I do enjoy Mr. Gililand's narration and here he did a phenomenal job. Each character had a unique voice, each impactful part of the story resonated. As for the story, it flowed smoothly with great pacing. A real treat and worth the credit.

Solid first book...glad there’s two more
Enjoyed this one from the beginning. Relatable MC who kicks as when needed. Wil be picking up the other books in series.

Damn good book
it started a little slow but by the end of chapter 1 I was hooked. the entire book had me feeling the ups and downs with the main character I can't wait for the next book.

pleasantly surprised
I figured to give this book a try, and although there were some "too stood to live" moments it was well worth the listen. Also I'll just say the ending plot twist so hard it nearly broke my neck.

Not really sure how to feel about this one.
The story is.. Lame. Sure the premise is interesting. A therapy using a game world to kick addiction while Nanites or whatever repair your body.
Inside the game was.. Bland. It was made for a handful of people so it feels more like a co-op game instead of world were supposed to care about.
The ending inside the game was lackluster. Plus the romance was.. Off, somehow. Didn't come off as genuine to me. I never felt it, only heard about it.
The ending 'outside' the game was by far the most interesting thing about this book. Really, it made this book feel more like a pre-qual. I suspected some type of genetic manipulation based off the title. Somehow tied to the levels he got in game.
It turned out far more interesting than I was expecting. Honestly that ending is why this is 4 starts and not 3 or even 2. It took me by surprise, which is rare since this book is in the 800 range for me.
