About this listen

Communion is the iconic classic in which Whitley Strieber describes his 1985 close encounter experiences. This book, which fundamentally changed the way we understand close encounters and alien abductions, is presented here with a new introduction by the author.

The message of Communion, that something unknown is really happening to people but that we have not studied it enough to understand it, remains as timely now as it was in 1987 when the book was first published. And Whitley Strieber's riveting account of what he experienced, along with his relentless and expert pursuit of the reality behind the experience, is to this day the greatest such account ever published.

Do not miss this great classic and the powerful introduction that explores the situation as it stands today—even more provocative and important now, as official sources are admitting that UFOs are real unknowns and that they seem to have something to do with close encounters.

Opened my mind to multiple possibilities. Makes life all the more interesting.
I have always believed that people who share their stories would never open themselves up to the negative responses that they are subjected to unless they were just sharing their true experiences. The life we experience seems to be worth so much more if it is preparation not finality.

Communion is an enjoyable read.

this book was compelling, graphic, and fascinating. I don't necessarily agree with all of the conclusions that the author describes on the nature of the "visitors" and why they are here, but I learned a great deal. I strongly recommend everyone read this with an open mind, and understand that in the near future disclosure will occur then this literature may become one of the most important books of our generation.

This book is the red pill

Wonderful listen, another wonderful piece to the puzzle. Appreciate him reading his own novel and giving me the chance to be that much closer to his experience

Sincere

There’s not much that hasn’t already been said about this gem, but hearing it now in Whitley’s own special way of narration is as visceral and terrifying as ever! But it’s scarier now, after decades of living with the visitors, Whitley has come to enough of an opinion to say “Yes, I would call them demons” I urge you to read all of his autobiographical books, and a huge THANK YOU TO AUDIBLE for bringing it to me 6$ cheaper than apple!

This book was referred to me as my personal journey for self. As I began, it was unclear to me if I should take this route, but it got interesting along the way. I'm glad I stayed with it.

I was insightful

I read this book when it came out and loved it. Though the movie was dated I enjoyed Christopher Walken in the lead. Unfortunately this authors reading was very flat and put me to sleep.

Needed a professional Narrator.

Mystic of our time gets selected by aliens for experiments. His wife might be an alien sleeper agent.

Real Aliens!

I could do without the dramatized telling of the story. The guy talks more about how he doesn’t do drugs and drinks wine more a bunch and try’s to prove his credibility rather than telling the story.

Compelling but simultaneously garbage

I waited years for this book to be audio. thank you so much. factual information. Helped with my recall.

the first alien book I bought the paperback book

I am not convinced of the existence of extra terrestrials. Nor do I believe in visitors. And yet the author has me convinced that he experienced something. His writing is sincere, I don’t believe he is being dishonest, though I wonder if a natural explanation for his experience might exist?

As someone who suffers night terrors, I have had similar experiences. Although what I see in the twilight state are creatures that I could only describe as demonic, if they were real. Night terrors can feel very real, but they are not. What you see is a waking nightmare, that is to say the projections of the mind in a waking world, since your eyes are open, but the body remains both sleep paralyzed and otherwise asleep.

Again it’s a terrifying experience, but it’s not real. It’s just a type of dream, and I can’t help but wonder if that might more fully explain the experience of the author.

A Compelling Case
