About this listen
We find her on a grey November day on Dartmoor, England.
I’m excavating a Bronze-Age cairn, expecting to find a burial urn and maybe some bronze tools if I’m really lucky. And then I see her fingers poking through the soil as if she’s trying to claw her way out of her grave. I’m an osteoarchaeologist, used to dealing with bones, and I know immediately she’s been in the ground for months rather than thousands of years.
Then I find a message in the grave that’s clearly meant for me.
It turns out the girl is the eighth victim of a serial killer, and now I’m convinced that the murderer knows me. It’s making me look at everyone in a different light – colleagues, family, and friends. My life is disintegrating around me, and I want to run. But if I do, I know I’ll never stop. It’s time to make a stand.
So many mysteries with a female protagonist end up with the climax being an abduction, and then the female somehow getting away, and I was really grateful that this book took a totally different approach.
I also appreciate the use of LGBT characters and some brief insight into some of the rejection that they sometimes experience (life lessons on how NOT to treat people!). :)
Overall awesome.
Loved the story - didn’t love the virtual voice narration

the time jump was sloppy in my opinion.
I want more of the character Rosie, before her past comes to light, she lived years before capturing her torturer, built walls and was amazing.
I want to know more about Rosie as the Skelton Key.
kept me guessing.
