Story
Norman Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive Thinking, a classic best seller, has inspired an optimistic perspective for millions of Americans. Now, in an inspirational and entertaining rebuttal, the legendary basketball coach Bob Knight explains why "negative thinking" will actually produce more positive results, in sports and in daily life. Coach Knight, the second-winningest coach in NCAA history with 902 victories, explains that victory is often attained by the team that makes the fewest mistakes. His coaching philosophy was to instill discipline by "preparing to win" rather than hoping to win.

Great guide for first time coaches
I volunteered to coach my sons team in a 5th and 6th grade youth rec league. This book was very helpful in shifting my focus more to what the kids will be looking for and how to help them as opposed to what the adult mind is thinking will be best. For years i had not taken the leap to coach because i was so bogged down on what type of offense I'd run, defenses, etc and this helped me to realize it is more about making things fun. I used a few of the ideas for practices. It's hard for me to summarize all the things I found helpful. I am confident that if you are inexperienced coach but long time fan of the game, this book will change your perspective in fantastic ways. And your season will be an incredible experience.
