About this listen

Things are heating up for the Sinclair boys! With one already in the NHL, Jayden Sinclair is hoping to be next!

This has been the toughest year of my life. I watched my brother go into the draft without me, my mom got divorced, and the weight of my family's issues is heavy on my shoulders. I feel like it's my job to fix everything while working my butt off in school and trying to make my game better. I have to go into the draft. It will give my family the support they need, and it will prove that I'm good enough. But to get there, I have to show I can be the best captain for the Bellevue Bullies. The spot is mine - no one can take it. First, though, Jude is making me go on a brothers' weekend. Innocent enough, I guess...until I see her. She's the biggest competitor I've ever faced. Not only for my spot but also for my heart. It's hard to ignore someone like Baylor Moore.

I don't lose. I can't. My dad has bred me to be the best in anything I do. I am driven, I am smart, and I am going to be the first woman in the National Hockey League. No two ways about it. I've worked too hard. I've been through too much not to have what I want. I know I can do it. I will make my dad proud, and no one will stand in the way of that. That is until I let him in. He scares me. He makes me feel. And he could very well be the one person who can make me want more than just to win. We both have the same goal: victory. But how do you compete against the person you want to win? It's not easy. Love isn't something you can control. It isn't like a puck that can be handled by a stick. No, it has a mind of its own and does what it wants.

Neither of us saw it coming, and we really don't know if there is a way to score, especially when you're being Clipped by Love.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. The Sinclair brothers Jude, Jayden and Jace are spending their last week in Florida before they go back to school and the NHL for Jude. Baylor Moor is also spending the weekend in Florida with her two friends Delanie and her twin sister Mandi before going back to school. When the girls are at the beach enjoying the sun they see the Sinclair brothers goofing off and soon Jace calls to them. The girls decide to go to the brothers party that night at their rented home, but after spending time with Jayden, Baylor decides that she wants to sleep with him, but Jayden decides not to because they are drunk. Baylor feels embarrassed and angry at Jayden because he didn't tell her but told her friend instead. Few months later Baylor and her dad are moving because he accepted a new job, he's now the new coach for the Bellevue Bullies hockey team. Baylor is nervous because she will see Jayden after a few months since their big fight. Jayden and Jace are surprised when they sees Baylor on the ice ready to practice with them, and soon Jayden takes it upon himself to protecter her from other teams and a few from their own team. Jayden and Jace are going to the draft to go to the NHL to join Jude, and Baylor is working hard to become the first female to play in the NHL.

This audiobook was such a good listen! The second brother in this hockey based series is a cocky dude who sees a girl on campus and is instantly smitten. After pursuing her he finds out that she's actually his coach's daughter and has high aspirations. Nevertheless. The pursuit is on! I loved the interaction between the two and loved the way their story comes to fruition. Narration was excellent.

Love story surprise!

as is the usual for me , I went through Toni's books half assed backwards . If you like hockey and hot sexy guys . Start here in college then go on to the books about the Assassin team .

wish I had read this series first .

I enjoyed this book, largely because Baylor reminded me of Ilona Maher (Team USA rugby player)! I know the book was written long before Ilona went pro, but picturing her as Baylor was still fun—especially since both share the signature red lipstick they wear while competing.

Baylor is the only female on an all-male college hockey team, coached by her dad.

Baylor dragged the story line so much, I actually hated her! lol but of course in the end I still loved her, I hope at the end though all the Sinclairs will play for Assassins.

Love the book because of Jaden but.......

I wished I had listen to these in the order they were written. Because I finished the Assassin series then I started this one and I feel like I just knew them already and I wasn’t really interested in going back in time.

I understand that these are side players and their stories are not in the NHL yet but I am just sad I didn’t listen before they were if that makes any sense at all.

Because I didn’t really like their story until 3/4th the way through, I almost stopped listening because I was just not into it.

I am glad overall that I finished because it did give context to the later stories. And the first girl in the NHL awesome.

So this review is really more about me than the story.

I enjoyed the narration soooo much!!

I absolutely loved this one! I loved getting to know Jaydin and seeing him get knocked into the boards by Baylor in this one! Jayden is the more sensitive one of the 3 Sinclair brothers and they are still reeling a little bit from all that went down with that dad and dealing with the aftermath. On a brothers trip, he ends up meeting Baylor and he can tell pretty much immediately that she is different. He feels the connection immediately and I loved when she asked to play the street hockey with him and how Jayden did not underestimate her. He knew pretty early on that she was a series player and she knew what she was doing. I love the level of competitiveness between the two of them and how they push each other to be better. Baylor has a ton of walls up and she is prickly but Jayden can see that there is more to her. Things take a turn that night and while Jayden had good intentions it goes bad and they do not leave on a good ending whatsoever. Neither expected to see each other again and so when Baylor ends up moving to Nashville and transferring with her dad's new coaching job to the Bullies team, they have to figure it out. I love how Jayden worked and pushed her just enough for the most part. They have that competitive edge going on and Jaydin has to work past that and once he gets Baylor to give him a second chance, they still have obstacles to overcome. I loved how Jaydin was. He might not have been looking for something but he knew as soon as he met Baylor that their connection was special and end game. They work on their connection and Jaydin definitely has to get Baylor to open up and let him in. He loves her for who she is, but he has to show her that being together doesn't mean that she has to sacrifice her dream of being the first woman in the NHL and that can be better together. This story was well written and I really enjoyed the development of them as a couple and individually. It flowed well and had me fully engaged from beginning to end.
The narrators did a great job with the story and bringing the characters to life with the emotion and personalities that came through the voice. They acted it out through their voice and you could hear the emotion. Very well done! Really enjoyed it!

Absolutely loved it!

Would have given a higher score, although such a spoiled - spoiled girl .... she made me want to quit listening, but had to keep listening for Jayden to have a women he deserves. . . at first I could understand why she acted the way she did but then she showed her selfish - spoiled self!

would have given higher score...
