Theatre Royal is a unique series of classic radio dramas produced in the 1950's by the late Harry Alan Towers. Starring the leading theatre artists of the day it is the only series of radio dramas in which Laurence Olivier ever appeared. He was joined by Ralph Richardson, John Gielgud, Orson Welles, Robert Morley, John Mills, Michael Redgrave, Trevor Howard, Robert Donut, Alec Guinness and Margaret Lockwood.

Recorded during the golden age of radio, Classic English and Irish Dramas is a remastered collection of classic radio dramas that boasts the kind of virtuoso audio performance rarely heard on radio since. This particular volume features Ralph Richardson in "A Sentimental Journey", and Margaret Lockwood in "Becky Sharpe", but listeners will also be intrigued by the supporting cast, which includes a performance from Laurence Olivier (his only radio drama appearance), as well as Orson Welles, Michael Redgrave, Alec Guinness, and others.
