About this listen
A demon lord, trapped for more than a thousand years, sends his servants to capture the Children of the Blessing because he believes they are the key to his escape. Hunted by demon spawn and the Grand Warlock, the Children of the Blessing grow to wish the gods had never blessed them.
Renn, a farmer's son, dreams of a simple life. But when his family is attacked and his home destroyed, he must flee across the continent to Elder Island. There, he hopes to train with the Lore Masters and harness his burgeoning powers. Pursued by the ruthless Grand Warlock Khan Devin and his demonic minions, Renn's path is fraught with danger and betrayal.
Avaris, the son of a high clan chief, is abandoned and left to die in the mountains by his insane father, who fears his blessed child. Rescued by an outcast necromancer, Avaris dreams of reuniting with his tribe and claiming his rightful place as High Clan Chief. But his hopes are shattered when his father insults Khan Devin, who retaliates by slaughtering most of Avaris's tribe and enslaving the survivors. The necromancer sacrifices herself to give Avaris a chance to escape. Now alone, Avaris embarks on a perilous quest to free his people and avenge his tribe.
As Renn and Avaris navigate their treacherous paths, they must master their divine gifts and face unimaginable horrors. From battling demonic creatures to uncovering ancient secrets, their journey is a race against time to prevent the prophecy from plunging Lemuria into eternal darkness.
Blessed by gods, pursued by evil—if they can’t save their loved ones, how will Renn and Avaris save themselves, let alone the world?

Very interesting story
I really enjoyed this story. Good plot overall. I was not sure I would enjoy this story and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I became invested in the characters. The narrator did an excellent job conveying the emotions of the characters. overall a very fun read. I would even listen to a sequel if one becomes available on audio.

creative and inspiring
we need more stories that highlight integrity, honesty and virtue as good traits in this world that is trying to promote the opposite. The main characters in this book are guided by these values in such a way that it makes the reader want to be a better person. It made me wish I was in the story with the well defined characters as a friend or family member. A great story line to follow with the right amount of twists as to keep you wondering how things were going to play out but not giving too much away so It was not so obvious. Those are all things I value in a book
