About this listen

Winter Pappas was not looking for love when rich and incredibly charming Carson Alexander, III walked into her life. Once vows were spoken, everything changed. Isolation and abuse chipped away at her spirit, until Winter no longer recognized herself. She became an expert at keeping secrets, but to know all of Carson's secrets was dangerous. Carson demanded loyalty above all else. To betray him was a death sentence.

To the world, they were a storybook couple, living a dream life. Accusations of murder and cruelty were preposterous. When Winter found her voice and a prosecutor who would listen to her story, she thought her troubles were over, until he dropped dead at Carson's trial. Terrified, she took her safety into her own hands. Escaping to a yoga retreat on a tiny island in South America seemed perfect.

Would it be peaceful solitude or a natural hunting ground for Carson? Add a devastating earthquake, a feisty new best friend, and a mysterious man running from his own demons, and anything can happen.

Halfway through the book I could no longer stand listening to the narrator fumbling through sentences, and even completely butchering words. No different sounding voices, somewhat monotone- hard to get lost in the story. If you can get past that this might be an interesting read with lots of twists and turns. Many innuendos- the main male character is a pig as you know from the description- and slight language (nothing worse than b**ch).
