About this listen

Ground-breaking band Black & White was platinum before it imploded from an overdose of sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll years ago. Now, the Las Vegas reunion show revives the old troubles between its two divas, and efforts to sabotage end in murder. Petite PR powerhouse Temple Barr and her faithful feline roommate Midnight Louie, assisted by the Vegas Cat Pack, must sniff out clues to save the Crystal Phoenix hotel's reputation and any at-risk lives, including their own. For sleuths and suspects, it all comes down to the black and white lies that destroy hopes, lives, and family.

When I stay with a book series it is because the characters are engaging. I like the writer's rich inclusion of historic details regarding music, architecture, Vegas history and many subjects in the natural narrative. I did find the weapon was a bit obvious in this mystery.

Characters are growing which I love to read. Max is my favorite (next to Louie) and he wasn't as prominent as I would like. Hopefully, he will be center stage in the next book.

Each of these Carole Nelson Douglas books are a treat and time with old friends.
