About this listen
While working his winery's acreage, Zack is shocked to discover a complete skeleton buried in the ground, undisturbed for decades. Suddenly, the police are taking an interest, too, and Zack could be in trouble. The bones of Charles Hanson, father of notorious femme fatale, Clara Hanson, are thought to be linked to a man named Red Dawg, a miner believed to be responsible for the start of the Oregon State Gold Rush in 1850.
Did Charles Hanson discover the hidden location of Red Dawg's gold mine? Could Charlie have been silenced to keep the location a secret? And how can Zack be involved in a Pomme Valley murder that happened 50 years before he showed up? Sherlock and Watson are on the case as they try, yet again, to keep their buddy Zack out of jail.
Listeners are loving this cozy mystery series with its two indomitable dog sleuths. Zack, Jillian, and the corgis, Sherlock and Watson, are at it again in this delightful series that pulls you right in.

Story
It's the Christmas season and veterinarian Kate Turner is not feeling very jolly. She's overworked, unappreciated, and dealing with two dissatisfied clients. Throw in a very complicated personal life and Kate's definitely got a case of the holiday blues. To make matters worse, Kate's ex-boyfriend, Jeremy, is mugged and robbed after they have a heated argument in the hospital parking lot. Then, two of her dissatisfied clients turn up dead (which really gets Kate's tinsel in a tangle). All of these events seem like coincidences, but they add up to something much more venomous.

Spencer Quinn’s first original audio short story reveals how everyone’s favorite detective duo - Chet the Dog and P.I. Bernie Little - came to meet before their first big case in Dog On It. As fans know, Chet first met Bernie on that fateful day when he flunked out of K-9 police school. The details of that day, though, have always remained a little vague (like so much in Chet’s doggy brain). All we know is that Chet had been the best leaper in his K-9 class, but for some reason he failed his final leaping test...and that a cat was involved...and that there was some blood. But whose?

Reports to write, forms to fill, coffee to drink, leads to run down. Gus’s life was a tedium and boredom he’d grown comfortable with. One that he sought out after he’d come back from his tour of duty. A detective in the paranormal investigations department. A job he could work day in and day out in relative peace. One cold and forgotten cup of coffee at a time. It was an environment that made some sense to him. At least in comparison to civilian life where almost nothing did. On top of that, it gave him a chance to hide what he was from the rest of the world.

Greed and Gold
When the body of a man who disappeared 50 years ago is discovered on his land, Zack and the corgis undertake an investigation that will lead them to murder, mystery and a new friend.
I loved this new Corgi Case Files story. It features the usual crew, a couple of Zack's old annoyances another great story which offers up some laughs, a few heart tugs and more twists and turns than a mountain switchback.
If you're a fan of the series, this one's a must read.

Another fun excursion!
cozy-mystery, corgi, murder, murder-investigation, amateur-sleuth, dogs, family-dynamics, framed, friendship, greed, gold-mine, situational-humor, verbal-humor*****
The publisher's blurb is a good hook and only misses telling about the nasty person who feels entitled to the winery and performs one too many dirty tricks. All of the characters certainly are, and the sleuthing is well done. Loved it! Easily a stand alone, but why?
Bob Johnson aces the narration with just the right touch that highlights the humor by downplaying the guffaws. I don't know how he keeps from cracking up!

Zac and the dogs at it again
Zack has purchased land from his neighbor for his winery and in the process of clearing it, he finds a skeleton. This should be of no big surprise for fans of this series. Sherlock and Watson have to solve another mystery. I do love these books. The narrator of this series is Bob Johnson and he is wonderful, I can't imagine the story without him. The perfect voice for these stories. If you enjoy good clean fun, a bit of mystery, and adorable dogs then this is the series for you.
