About this listen

The long-awaited finale of the best-selling series!

The Blue Falcons is a secret kid’s club that fights against a family of villainous magicians. Using an impressive arsenal of magical candy, Nate, Summer, Trevor, and Pigeon defeated Belinda White, a sinister candy shop owner who almost seized control of their town, and her brother, Jonas White, a maniacal arcade operator who tried to turn the planet into his personal puppet.

Now, the Blue Falcons believe they must battle the third sibling—Camilla, who has brought the Dreams and Screams International Carnival to their town of Colson, California.

Rumors are spreading about the new carnival. Those who visit feel compelled to return. Some who enter the labyrinthine Fun House disappear for days. And the Big Top is said to bewitch audience members.

The Blue Falcons think they know who is responsible and are ready to fight, but the carnival blocks any outside magic. Without their favorite enchanted treats, how can the kids save their town?

When weird dreams start to plague everyone who has visited the carnival, the worlds of magic and reality collide. With the help of a magical new enforcer, the Blue Falcons will need to learn to use the magic of the carnival against itself, including a host of new magical carnival candies, and tap into the power of their own dreams to battle their greatest adversary yet.

What listeners say about Carnival Quest

Highly rated for:

The Audiobook "carnival Quest" By Brandon Mull, Part Of The Candy Shop War Series, Received Mixed Reviews Regarding Its Story Aspect. Many Praised The Imaginative Storyline, Engaging Plot, Creative Storytelling, Suspenseful Narrative, And Entertaining Adventure Elements. However, Some Felt The Pacing Was Slow, Characters Were Underdeveloped, Certain Elements Were Confusing, And It Felt Disconnected From The Previous Books In The Series, Lacking Sufficient Details. The Story Revolves Around Themes Of Fantasy, Magic, Adventure, Candy/sweets, A Small Town Setting, And Villainous Characters. While Some Found It A Fun And Enjoyable Continuation Of The Series, Others Felt It Didn't Quite Live Up To The Standards Set By The Previous Books.

I really liked it despite a slow start

It started with it very much disappointing me which usually keeps me from liking the book overall but this book really picked up and I loved it.

Not enough main female characters

It’s a good book but besides summer there aren’t any female characters. If there was just one more female character the book would be much better

Best book yet

The first two books were great, however I think this one topped it off. Very unique with the villains. I loved it

Not as good as first but a nice wrap

Narrator was off, I wish they would have kept the same thru out these books, this one was whinny and didn’t differentiate much between characters- also we lost some nuances of speech patterns from the last book. Overall the story was interesting diving more into the power of the villain family as a whole but I felt like we lost a lot of the original players on the board, which wouldn’t have been so bad if we got more out of the new players but there were so many new characters it was a lot to keep track of. I would have liked to focus more on the main point but there were many side quests it became dizzying. The candy wasn’t as cool this time around, there was opportunity to show off some amazing powers but the carnival shuts it all down. Then it drags and wraps up very quickly in the end. Didn’t feel as ticked and tied as the other books. Hoping this is the last book.

Amazing end to the trilogy

This one is probably my favorite book out of the series. Brandon’s books are so creative and engaging and this one is no different.
