About this listen

A bloodthirsty lake monster menaces a small town in the Ozarks....

When the men find him, the boy’s legs look like they were run through a wood-chipper. He’s bleeding heavily and near death, but he still has strength to tell them of the monster that attacked him: a dark, massive creature that emerged from the bottom of the lake. The child dies before he can say more.

c When another body is found chewed to pieces, the Sheriff begins to wonder what evil lies at the bottom of Big Water Lake.

While I thought the story was interesting, it was truly anti-climatic. I knew the twist all along, and wasn't surprised. Overall, it's a pretty easy listen.

Somewhat of a mediocre story without a great deal of entertainment value. It was so-so.

Not the best I've read.

I wanted to enjoy this story and gave it every chance to pick up and commit to something. Over told unnecessary traits of many characters and fell short of the most interesting parts. I don't understand why the least important characters got highlighted and the most interesting characters and relationships were neglected in the worst way. The only reason I finished this book was to see what the thing really was.

What disappointed you about Bonegrinder?

Its monotony of the story was excruciating. I think this story had potential to be good, but just never got there. I found myself being GLAD that it wasn't longer and only finished the book so I'd know what bonegrinder was. Definitely NOT the best work John Lutz has done, not even close.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment and boredom
