About this listen

This explosive new audiobook challenges many of the long-held assumptions about blacks, about Jews, about Germans and Nazis, about slavery, and about education. Plainly written, powerfully reasoned, and backed with a startling array of documented facts, Black Rednecks and White Liberals takes on the trendy intellectuals of our times as well as historic interpreters of American life.

Through a series of essays, Sowell presents an in-depth look at key beliefs behind many policies and trends. He presents eye-opening insights into the development of the ghetto culture, a culture cheered on toward self-destruction by white liberals who consider themselves "friends" of blacks.

Black Rednecks and White Liberals is the capstone of decades of outstanding research and writing on racial and cultural issues by Thomas Sowell.

My first book from Sowell and won't be my last. Sowell focuses on a number of topics regarding race relations between the majority and minorities around the world from Blacks in America to Jews to Germans after World War Two. Each one adding new information that I was never told in school, often because it does not fit the narrative commonly held on how race relations have occured and how they influence today. Sowell provides a different take on these events and thus a different stance on what policies and actions would improve current race related issues today. Fascinating read.

A Fascinating Rebuttal To Common Race Teachings

Excellent book. This will be required reading (at least the chapters on Black Rednecks and Slavery) for my children when they are old enough. The Black Rednecks chapter changed the way I think. The Slavery chapter made me prouder than ever of our history as well as outraging me about the modern left and the anti American slant they take.

Mandatory reading

This is a remarkable book that really tells it like it is and coming from a black man, no not an "african american" offers a unique perspective. He is simply brilliant in his writings, a true gift that every race should read. I highly recomend this book.

Very Refreshing

The best illuminators of history make us wince. They shine a light on preconceptions and ask what they are based on. If not historical fact, then what? In these essays, Sowell asks questions more often than he makes pronouncements. He doesn't waste time in couching arguments or working up to his points. There is no PC hand-holding here. Just a relentless hunt for truth. And it's an inclusive, and therefore fatiguing, hunt. It's impossible not to examine one's own assumptions in the process. I felt spent, and yet energized, after it was over. Wow.

Pulling No Punches

Thomas Sowell brilliantly dismantles the myths perpetuated and utilized by history revisionists to control the narrative of soft expectations, so called evils of the west and white privilege. This book puts history in perspective, showing the readers that no culture is completely innocent.

One word to describe this book...dangerous

A thoroughly-researched book. And more relevant than ever for exposing racist black supremacist cults like "blacklivesmatter".

Africans Enslaved White People

this book is very mind expanding. i recommend to everyone. the reader does a good job of keeping it interesting even though all he's doing is reading facts. they should make it manditory for people to read this book at all universities.

what a fantastic book. Easy to listen to, understand and recommend to anyone seeking to understand American History.

Enlightening

This book will enlighten you to the twisted nature of identity politics as it pays out on the kabuki theater stage of false history we collectively "remember" and are indoctrinated with today. It's a "must read" by a brilliant mind for anyone engaging in the culture wars of today. I can't recommend it highly enough!

mind-blowing analysis of forgotten truth
