Excellent story, wonderfully narrated
The scenes, the plot and twists and character descriptions were terrific. Loves how it personalizes people in the trenches, and how war affects lives. David's narration was terrific, spot on storytelling and character styles. His ability to use the just right voice for each character in dialogue made this a very nice listen.

A hero - of sorts
Black Poppies. A tale that invokes the horror of the first world War. Not telling of the horrors but the luck and struggles of a Captain of the British Army. Beautifully written and quite emotional in places. Captain Armstrong is a likeable character though flawed by his upbringing.
Narration is clear and concise with just the right amount of gravitas.
I do hope that there will be another book concerning Robert Armstrong.
