From 1949 to 1957, Dragnet pioneered new levels of realism on radio. Every crime investigated by Sergeant Joe Friday was taken from the actual case files of the Los Angeles Police Department, with only "the names changed to protect the innocent". There were multi-layered sound effects; the actors used accurate police lingo, abbreviations, and penal codes; and the show didn't shy away from stories about heinous crimes or stories that had unhappy endings. Created and produced by Jack Webb, Dragnet was much more than "just the facts".

What made the experience of listening to Big Little Mother the most enjoyable?

Forgery of charge slips when purchasing children's clothing. This is a story of a woman who steals but wins the hearts of the stores. It seems they are quite sensitive to someone who is stealing to take care of children.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Big Little Mother?

When Frank says he noticed the sales slips were for a girl size 10 and now they are a size 12. Friday says 'Great, now we just need to find growing children.'
