About this listen

The 12th audiobook in Winston Graham's classic Poldark saga, now a major TV series from Masterpiece PBS.

Cornwall, 1818

We continue the tale of Ross and Demelza; of the wayward Valentine Warleggan, whose existence keeps open the old wounds of the feud between Ross and George; of Bella, the Poldarks' youngest daughter, whose precocious talent as a singer is encouraged by her old flame, Christopher Havergal, and by a distinguished French conductor who has more in mind than Bella's music; of Clowance, the Poldarks' widowed daughter, who considers remarriage to one of two rival suitors; and of a murderer who stalks the villages of West Cornwall.

In his Poldark series, Winston Graham explores the complications of love lost and the class struggle of early 19th-century England with a light, comic touch. Bella Poldark is the final Poldark audiobook.

The Poldark series by Winston Graham is the best stories I've ever read. The characters are charming and well developed. The performance on Audible was outstanding. I just finished book 12 and loved every moment. I'm very sad there are no more, but am delighted with the experience.

Best Book Series!

If you've made it this far in the series, you'll enjoy this! I didn't want the Poldark series to end, but this was a good way to go.

A wonderful series, I wish PBS had stuck to the true storyline, they did not need to change anything. Love the development of the lives of everyone in the family!

Marvelous!!!

I’m far from ready to say goodbye to the Poldark’s Cornwall. The second generation is as dear to me as the first. There were moments when I laughed out loud, and moments that I was close to tears. Graham artfully includes reminisces from the first 6 novels into this book as he brings his stories to a written conclusion. His hints at a future for the Poldarks and their loved ones that makes me want for more.

Possibly My Favorite

And the long story of love and marriage and children and legacy ends. How many other novels in a series chronicle so beautifully more than 35 years of love and life in one endearing family?

Wonderful ending to a long, beloved saga!

I love all of the Poldark series book. They are among my favorites. The narrator does a wonderful job. However, in this series the sound is just off. When it was playing on my car stereo I even thought there was something wrong with my speakers. It’s just this book. The other series books sound good.

Love Poldark series

Definetly a captivating culmination of previous books. But it left me wanting more. The characters are described so well I feel I know them personnaly. What about the futures of Clowance, Henry, Noel and Georgy? Will they be as exciting? As turbulent as some others? Does Bella have children? Does she know who's they are?
Is George a changed person having lost his only 'son'? Ok, Probably not. But It would be interesting to see him toil with the personal challenge. Does George succumb and allow 'The Little She Bear' to assume his thrown where she most certainly will rival her father.
My favorite scene was in the burning house, when Valentine kneels beside and adresses his father in an undeniable manner, with soulful truth, which acknowleges his parantage and their deep connection/concern with/for eachother. That was heart wrenching.
Does Ross ripen to an old age like Aunt Agatha or will his adventurous streak finally get the best of him in a mine shaft like his cousin Charles?
And what about all the ancient findings in the depths of the mine? Why hasn't anyone told Cubby's new suitor yet. Capt Prudough? The odd tall man with spectacles, who fought, subdued and captured the serial killer and once family friend. The Polldarks could be richer than they know, or would they 'take the high road', again? Thank You Mr Graham for what will be years of enjoyment with this series, but you have left us wanting more. We are waiting.
Thank You to Mr Hembrough. I enjoyed his interpretation and portrayal of all the varied characters very well. He certainly brought them to life! (Even if one or two lines were read in the wrong charachter) Why wasn't that edited? Hmm?

Adventurous in many aspects
