About this listen
Not everyone who falls in love is a young person.
Charisse Adair, following a sudden divorce, must rebuild her life. She leaves her home of over 20 years in Tupelo, Mississippi, and goes to Mina, Arkansas to live in her new RV with her aunt. After several weeks, her aunt suggests there might be a better choice for Charisse in Oklahoma. She would be closer to her adult children who are in university in Norman, Oklahoma.
She finds herself in McAlester, Oklahoma with another family member, Beulah Riddle who helps her find a job and new meaning in her life. Her skill as a woodcarver creates new possibilities for her life. No longer is she a society maven, she is her own person, building a life of love, belonging, and excelling with her craft.
Love comes her way and she creates new family and friends but all is not bliss.
Her former husband jumps in and makes her new life a horror show.
Will she be able to keep the happiness she has found? Will her son live through the beating her former husband dished out? And, what about the twins? They certainly were an unexpected blessing due to be born very soon.
Charisse wants her own happily ever after ending. She knows it is up to her to make it all happen.

Caroline Murphy swore she'd never set foot back in the small Southern town of Peachtree Bluff; she was a New York girl born and bred and the worst day of her life was when, in the wake of her father's death, her mother selfishly forced her to move - during her senior year of high school, no less - back to that hick-infested rat trap where she'd spent her childhood summers.

The only remnant of their miserable marriage she plans to keep is their lakeside cabin in Bootleg, Texas. Unfortunately, she's not the only woman with that idea.
