About this listen
A suspicious fire…
An orphaned child wanders into the woods…
Police, fire and the locals search for little Ivy!
Where can she be? The forest is large. And it is dangerous! Bodies of water and animals are just the tip of the iceberg! The forest is haunted. And the locals never enter!
But the town holds out hope. They search the forest anyway. But Ivy isn’t found.
And she is not seen again until ten years later!
When Ivy emerges, she emerges naked, trembling and afraid. She walks into a diner and into the lives of a childless couple who take her in and start their lives as a family. The couple enroll her in the local school. And the beautiful but timid girl experiences taunting and bullying by rival girls.
But Ivy has a weapon. She has mystical powers. The trees speak to her. The spirits guide her. And soon she finds herself using her powers against a relentless rival.
Ivy grows up. Her beauty is second only to her mysterious and enigmatic nature. As a woman, she find life hasn't changed much. There are still enemies! People uncomfortable with her. Being different has proven to be a problem that doesn't go away with time. And an old rival that tormented her as a young girl seems intent on making her presence known. The rival has old scores to settle. She makes her move. And Ivy makes hers!

LOVED IT
I absolutely loved this story. I couldn't stop listening once I started. I'm happy Dawson's love for Ivy never died.

Not the best writing but entertaining nonetheless
I knew this wasn’t going to be a literary class when the author used “I could care less” in the text. The story was interesting and it was an easy listen/read though so I won’t complain. I got it free but I certainly wouldn’t pay for it.
