About this listen
Life hasn't been quite the same for computer engineer Island Chaptal since March, when an OCD-ridden professional killer burst into her life to clean her bedroom and take her on a global chase for a legendary diamond. Sadly, the (hit) man doesn't just break bones; he breaks hearts, too.
Since then, Island has found solace in Alex - the perfect boyfriend - and Ruby, a software project about to revolutionize online banking security...for the worse. When Island's boss is found dead after allegedly using Ruby to steal a vast fortune, it's up to her to clear his name and recover the money. Someone else wants answers, though, and this time, Island might be in over her head.
From New York to Zürich, it's going to take the return of a cleaning expert, a mini-octopus, and Island's wits to beat Ruby. All while deciding whether to trust a man who already jilted her, or one who may have his own deadly secrets...

Island Chaptal - nerdy IT engineer by day, romance novel junkie by night - just walked into her messy New York apartment to find Mr. Right waiting for her. No, wait...Mr. Clean. A gentleman professional killer with a bad case of OCD and zero tolerance for unsorted laundry, March isn't there to kill her...yet. He wants the diamond her late mother stole for a sinister criminal organization. Island agrees to help him find it, facing the kind of adversaries who dismember first and ask questions later. Good thing she's got March to show her the ropes. And the guns. And the knives.

Story
It always started like this, a pulse inside me, like a warning before the tide surged, roared... and froze everything. Twenty-year old Emma just landed in Rome, to find the father who walked out of her life more than a decade ago and was too busy eating pizza to call. Traveling with her is a secret she's carried alone since childhood: sometimes, around her, time stops. People and cars freeze, rain hangs still in the air and there's only her left in the silence. To make things worse, instead of her dad, Em runs into a past she'd rather forget in the person of Lily, her stepsister.

My go-to escape!
I LOVE this series! These books have all the elements found in my favorite books all rolled into one: romance, humor, mystery, unpredictability, action, sexual tension. . . maybe I'd like a bit more sex, but I'm freaky that way! I've listened to this book no less than three times. I put it on when I need a chuckle or am tortured with some mindless task like cleaning. This author has a fan for life!
And the narrator? She flawlessly brings the characters to life. Some narrators lose me when switching around to voices of the opposite sex or accents. Amy really pulls you into the story. I sure hope she continues her recording career as I'll be following her also!

I want more!
The characters in these books are so well developed that it was be a joy to continue to get to know them. I’d love to see the series continue (I’m about to start book three of the four). It’s rare that I stumble upon a coat mystery series that I like this much! The people are quirky and the dilemmas are fresh. The plot is interwoven with several subplots that keep it interesting. I’ll say it again. I want more!! 😊

Hilarious!!!
This is absolutely one of the funniest series I have ever listened to. The writing is outstanding and the narrator couldn’t possibly be any better for the voice of Island! The narrators comedic timing and enunciation just really brings the humor out. I honestly don’t know if I would like it nearly as much if I read it myself so I will keep waiting for the audiobooks to come out! I hope to hear much more from this author and especially this series!!!

Amy McFadden does it again! What a wonderful listening experience. March is back and Island is right back in the mix of her mother's old life! Even if you have already read this you need this audiobook! It really brings the story to life. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.

Love Island and March
Amy McFadden is an awesome narrator. The story carries on from book one but can stand alone. My husband listened with me but had not heard or read book one and he very much enjoyed it. The story is fun and exciting. I really want March and Island to be happy together!

Just gets better--the story laughs along.
I purchased this as a series together—I have reviewed in that manner.
I came across Spotless series and so happy I did.
The main character is Island who started out as an IT engineer, top or her class, to be abducted by an assassin, to jump all over the world to help find the largest diamond ever and why her—well her mom stole it. Her mother had died years ago, and Island doesn’t really know much about anything, until her hazardous adventure begins.
• Book 1-Spotless, sets into story, characters and the adventure on its way. —Great Book
• Book 2-Beating Ruby, shows us that attraction between Island and March is developing, how life keeps getting in their way as they are in the middle of another adventure. —Great Book
• Book 3-Crystal Whisperer, is where the CSI, the Lions and others they trusted show are out to destroy Island and March, all because of Dries (Island’s biological father). Great action and story development. Greater Book
• Book 4-Butterfly in Amber, takes you places you never expected. I will only say excellent writing and a must read. Island will understand how much she is loved and to what ends her loved ones will go to for her. Ongoing action that you will not want to put down. I LOVE THIS BOOK—This book doesn’t miss any character, doesn’t miss any action, it has humor (so much humor), battles, love, emotional scenes—just it has everything!
• Novella—Apache Strike Force, is basically, March meets Island’s daddy. Very interesting and FUNNY! It’s so worth the money.
•
For all of you how are interested there will be one more book in this series. “Island Chaptal and the Ancient Aliens’ Treasure”, coming out 12-12-2017. (found on Camilla Monk’s author page)
You need to read them all to get the full weight of the story—Excellent series Camilla Monk. I can’t your next book.
Amy McFadden does a great job. You are the voice of The Spotless series. —applause to you.

Another fun adventure!
Gah! I cannot get enough of Camilla Monk, Island Chaptal, and March. I adore Monk’s writing style, Island’s observations, and March’s placidity. This is a great mixture of closed door romance, action, mystery, suspense, and humor.
There’s some plot twists, so I don’t want to spoil too much. This book definitely has a complete and enjoyable story with an HFN ending and obvious lead into more adventures.
Amy McFadden provides a full cast of characters from a variety of countries with discernible and consistent voices. I cannot imagine anyone else as Island. Or March. Or even Phyllis. Additionally, McFadden also gives each “outtake” from faux romance novels that serve as the intro to every chapter their own unique delivery.
