Story
The battlefields of the 31st century are commanded by the BattleMech, 12-meter-tall, 100-ton bipedal engines of destruction. Fought by MechWarriors, commanded by neo-feudal officers, owned by national governments and band of mercenaries, these ’Mechs make every other ground combat vehicle obsolete. This is the warfare of fusion-powered giants. This is BattleTech.

Lifelong friends, they went their separate ways. Now they are together again, though each holds secrets from the others in his heart. They speak of a world shadowed with rumors of war. They speak of tales of strange monsters, creatures of myth, creatures of legend. They do not speak of their secrets. Not then. Not until a chance encounter with a beautiful, sorrowful woman, who bears a magical crystal staff, draws the companions deeper into the shadows, forever changing their lives and shaping the fate of the world.

Give me UNABRIDGED BATTLETECH!!!
Ok, the sound FX and music sounded kinda crappy at format 3, but I got used to them. Eventually they even added nicely to the experience. I've followed the Battletech series for years, always hoping for audiobooks, and now that they're here I wasn't entirely disappointed. I still got the same excitement I get only from Battletech. But give us the full book! Please! This abridgement is like a low-res photo of a Van Gogh, you get the broad strokes but none of the details that make it sing.

Good Mercenary Book
It isn't really part of the main BT story line which I really was looking for. The characters are interesting and it gives an interesting view on life as a merc rather than being part of a major house.

Too Cut up
Okay audiobook. The major problem is that it is chopped all to bits and thus misses much of scope of the book. Really wish you had unabridged versions.

Pretty good yarn, good sound effects!
I own all of the BattleTech audiobooks, and own most of the current novels in book form. Double Blind is, overall, a great book! Before I read it I was unfamiliar with Avanti's Angels, and after I read this book they're my fave merc unit thus far. =)
The story line has enough action and intrigue, but doesn't get bogged down, and is a fascinating look into the BattleTech world from the point of view of this small merc unit.
The performance by Christopher Graybil was decent enough, clear and distinct, with a good vocal range to distinguish different characters, so kudos on that.
Overall, a great entry to the BattleTech series, and my fave out of all the BattleTech audiobooks. I think you'd like it. =)

Massive Mechs and Battles
It’s a well written story with good sound effects and has some good intrigue as well as combat. I would give it a read if you like tech stuff and 100 Ton Mechs with attitude.
