Story
The tale begins in Dark Age Britain, a land where Arthur has been banished and Merlin has disappeared, where a child-king sits unprotected on the throne, where religion vies with magic for the souls of the people. It is to this desperate land that Arthur returns, a man at once utterly human and truly heroic: a man of honor, loyalty, and amazing valor; a man who loves Guinevere more passionately than he should; a man whose life is at once tragic and triumphant.

Best series I've listened to this year
Wow! I absolutely loved this book! The storyline is original and unique. The moral and religious undertone is very well written, not forcing it's views on the reader/listener but definitely creating an awareness of right and wrong and the importance of preserving what's right.
I'm definitely hooked on this author!

Beautifully story
Although I have not listened to book 1 to find out what kind of people these are but something tells me maybe fae or fairy since they live in trees. They fight for survival and have reachers aka being able to reach in the past to see the future. The story was beautifully written and I was able to piece the puzzle together a little bit since not knowing their beginnings.
The narrator voice was awesome although I wouldn’t want to listen to it when I’m tired as it is the type to lull you to sleep.
I received this free from the author or narrator for an honest review.

You'll want to continue with this story!
With the first book laying a wonderful foundation for this world where Reachers are in grave peril, as well as the Mother Trees, this second instalment to the story is probably even better.
We learn more about the true cause of the strife between the Low Landers and the Reachers; the significance of the Mother Trees and the critical and important link the Reachers have with them. We watch the battle for survival, the blossoming of a coming of age story and the ensuing love story. We also watch with bated breath, the Cursed Children and their challenges and rescues. My favorite theme in this book is the coming together of the people to do what is right. How it looks at the beginning of the first book is very different at the end. I am very curious where W.K. GREYLING takes the story in the next book. I do love when I am interested in continuing any series and this one does make me want to know what happens next.

Much like the authors previous series this could be made into many more books. Character development continued from the 1st book & the story was well developed & flowed in a constant but not rushed fashion. Definitely add this author & series to your listening pleasure.

A great conclusion to a great story!
It's difficult to write a review for this book without giving away spoilers. I would bet that if you're reading through the reviews you probably read the first book and liked it. Now you want to know if the second book is worth the read. IT UNQUESTIONABLY IS! Dig in, for you're about to encounter a book you might just read/listened to in one sitting. I pretty much ended up doing that. The ending was also extraordinary

Great story! Make sure to read Book 1 first.
I accidentally read this book, Book 2 first and because of that, this story seemed to start of slow. Though once I picked up the characters and understood the plot, it really picked up and I thoroughly enjoyed the book!

A sequel that is as good as the first book
In this second tale, Walde may have found a home, but his journey to find himself continues. A sweet love story ( no worries here this is not a romance novel) the tough truth about war, the bitter consequences of adult decisions are masterfully woven together by author and narrator in this excellent sequel.
