About this listen
We Brits get up to crazy things in our spare time. Want to be champion welly wanger? Or nettle eater, perhaps?
In this audiobook you will hear about some of the barking mad and wildly eccentric things we British get up to from time to time. You may not believe that some of the customs and traditions really exist.
You may be asking yourself: "Who would eat nettles? They sting, don't they?" Yes, nettles do sting. And yes, all the traditions, customs, and sporting events you will hear about in this audiobook are real and do exist.
As you may have already surmised, a few too many beers and a "friendly discussion" in the pub played their parts in the origins and development of quite a few of the things you are going to hear about.
The British are still eccentric and barking mad. And we love it!
Here are just some of the barking mad British traditions, customs and sports you will hear about....
- Welly wanging
- Nettle eating
- Black pudding throwing
- Rhubarb festival
- Toe wresting
- And another 15 more barking mad British traditions, customs, and sports...

Funny and charming
Packed with anecdotes about unique sports and hobbies in the U.K. This is a good book to get some laughs and encourage you to visit the places where they follow these activities. If you think you can beat the best at toe-wrestling, why not go for it?
