About this listen
Team Grendel is back, and this time, they have double the monster sharks and double the trouble as a drug cartel and the Mexican Navy are both ready to blow the Beowulf III out of the water!
When a top secret, undercover mission goes wrong for one of the company's operatives, Ballantine must call on Team Grendel and the crew of the Beowulf III to take down a drug lord and stop Southern California from being overrun by a new substance more addictive and deadly than any drug on the planet. But things are never that simple as Team Grendel find they are under siege by cloned Megalodon sharks that developed a taste for the new substance, sending the monsters on a drug fueled rampage of bloody violence along the Baja Mexico coastline!
Blood is in the water, and the feeding frenzy is on!

Story
A series of violent shark attacks off the shores of northern California draw the attention of pessimistic Detective Luke Jansen. Despite reports of shark sightings, the injuries are more reminiscent of a chainsaw-wielding maniac. Things get stranger when marine biologist Elise Sheldon encounters the creature. Exhausted and traumatized, her claims that the beast is a Helicoprion are dismissed. With little help from the police department, Luke and Elise form an unlikely alliance that puts them face-to-face with a violent man-eating shark, and its terrifying reason for existing.

On a desolate beach in far northern Scotland, the winter storms have been washing up all manner of things since time began. But buried in the centre of one smaller iceberg is a shard of ancient Viking pottery telling a partial tale of a hidden mysterious island beyond the ice and mist, that was home to a great treasure and even greater horrors. Thawing in the same block of ice was a rotting flap of skin that refused to be identified but had similar skin patterns to a creature not seen for 100 million years.

Story
100,000 years ago the object hit the lake at the deepest point, quickly sinking into its mile-deep Stygian darkness. The sheets of ice closed, time moved on and the land forgot. But over the centuries, legends grew of people vanishing, of strange, deformed animals and of an unexplained luminescence down in the lake depths. When Marcus Stenson won the lucrative contract to create a sturgeon fish farm on the site of disused paper mill on the shore of Lake Baikal, he thought he had won the lottery and refused to listen to the chilling folktales....

Shark Brains on Drugs;)
Every bit as good as the first in the series... Outta this world action, banter, and characters... Damned near impossible to put down and the best kinda binge read... When you’re not grinning, or outright laughing, you’ll be scooching to the edge of your seat in anticipation and anxiety...

Very Fun Series
This book pics up nearly a year after book 1. Things have been going well for the individual members of Team Grendel. When they reunite for their next mission, however, they are thrust into an extremely intense situation almost immediately. In this story, the world’s most dangerous animal takes center stage; man. There are more mega sharks (plural), and a new foe to overcome.
This story is not quite as good as the first. It is probably because the bulk of the events occur over a single day. It just seems too chaotic for such a short time period. It is definitely still a very good story, but unrealistically brief. Even Jack Bauer would say there is too much going on in a single day. That is the only complaint, and if it were to have occurred over two days there would be less of an issue, though still a bit quick.
Neil Helligers has nailed this series. He is definitely an excellent choice to re-record this series!

Not as good as the first.
If I have to hear the narrator say "Dolphin" helecopter instead of DAUPHIN, or "boat swain" instead of bo'sun I'm gonna scream. DUDE, seriously, you read books for a living. Learn some pronunciation!

Predictable
The first book was great, but I can’t recommend the second and I’m not going to continue with the series.
I don’t require a book to be “great literature” and some predictability is okay; but when the story line requires “supposed” professional Navy Seals and very experienced leaders to be unprepared for the bad guys to act like bad guys, I draw the line.
I don’t expect the hero’s to be perfect, or all-knowing, but it’s insulting when the writer goes against character to further the story.
Spoiler alert: I am referring to the part when the cartel boards the hero’s ship. Way too predictable.
