Lieutenant Kevin Benson was the local playboy and a top cop in Valaria City. He had it all. A good life, a great job and a booming business with his best friend and co-worker Curtis Williams. Benson, however, complicates things when he falls in love with Curtis’ daughter Tameka. But with Curtis’ knowledge of Benson’s foul deeds and womanizing ways, made her off limits to him. Benson then backs off for the sake of their friendship. But when Curtis dies, it gave birth to a new opportunity, which Benson quickly makes use of by going after Tameka. But now there was an additional problem, Leonardo, Tameka’s boyfriend who saw behind the mask of Benson’s actions and knew what he truly wanted from the get go. And even though Leonardo tries to warn Tameka of Benson’s intentions, she refuses to listen to him. However, when things began spiralling out of control and Tameka shuts Benson’s advances down; it became calamitous for him. So much so that it sets him on an obsessive path, which quickly turns deadly.
I also loved the narrator's voice, Though automated, he brought the story to life.
Fast paced but well written.
