About this listen

"Araby" is one of the stories from Joyce's masterpiece, The Dubliners. As is the case with all the stories in the book, it culminates in an "epiphany".©1990 Jimcin Recordings (P)1990 Jimcin Recordings Anthologies Anthologies & Short Stories Classics

I loved it and there are so many hidden meanings. Especially with the word light. I suggest underlining the word light and going back to see what it may mean.

great short story

This is a superior short story by Joyce. It is evocative of the life and feelings of the young man protagonist. The characters are very pleasant. The narration was very good, but I could deal with a little more Irish accent. In the most quickly read sections the narrator falls into the rhythm of the writing, but when the reader slows down the rhythm becomes suppressed. Still a great story with very good narration, well worth the 95 cents.
