1/2 Amish overview, 1/2 motivational
I found and followed Lizzie on social media and wanted to hear more about the Amish upbringing and insight only someone like her could have. The book has some of that, but not as much as I had hoped.
She has a good balance of beautiful stories about her family, siblings and the community while sharing some of her personal struggles with living in the Amish community. She retells all of it with honesty, love and respect.
Once she begins to talk about her life after she left the Amish community, the tone of the book also changes. While there is a little bit of insight of her struggles in her new life, the book becomes motivational in tone. She encourages the reader to make changes, and be all they can be. She is encouraging, makes common sense, and is a good role model.
The book it short and sweet.
I wish I would have realized how much motivational info was in it. It was fine, just not what I expected.

Wish it were longer!
Didn’t want it to end! So insightful and inspiring. I loved the personal experiences growing up in a strict Amish community and the inside scoop of what it was like—especially in the relationship sect!! The last few chapters are very motivating as well. 10/10 recommend from culture/entrepreneur/authentic thinking/creativity aspects.
