I'm glad that the evil knights were dealt with. I like this Narrator his voice the way it changes with the characters.

I always am able to stay engrossed in this writer's tales. Although she takes some creative license to increase interest in the story, there is still some history woven into her work. I also like that she never slams the bedroom door in your face so there is some steam in the romantic scenes. Overall, I think she is a good writer and I am never disappointed in her publications.

I guess you would have to live during that time period to truly understand the restrictions put on women. They had no control over their life. They were at the mercy of men, and especially men with power. I did enjoy the characters and the supporting characters as well. Some parts made me ask Why? However, I enjoyed this book.

The series continues with the next couple. I will say that I feel for the women during this time period. Yuk yuk yuk marrying old men to save your family or to make alliances. Yuk yuk yuk, but the one good thing is that people didn’t live long so if you married someone old hopefully you would be a widow soon. This is where this story begins. A widow and a rogue. Such a wonderful story.

This is only okay - nothing extraordinary. Typical story of King ordering beautiful women to marry based on political reasons. Strong strapping man of great skill in battle and in the bedroom gets involved with the women. Strong attraction between strapping young many and beautiful woman but it is one of those love/hate relationships on her part. Woman is so stupid she will give up a very very good thing because of some misplaced fear. You know the rest. The narrator is good but the story is forgettable.

I had a hard time keeping all the characters straight in my mind. Was confusing at times. This wasn't my favorite book, but I still love the series.
