Jewel is a tomboy who was eventually discharged from the military because she struggled to get along with others and couldn’t adjust to the military's restricted lifestyle.
After a scandal that disrupted the social order back home, Kay is banished to a zoological research vessel, where he acts as curator. He struggles to prove himself, trying to earn his place in the order again so that he can end his exile and return to his normal life.
But when it turns out that Jewel was abducted from home and placed in an alien zoo, with Kay as the only other being around, she questions his intentions. He didn’t know that her species was an intelligent life form, and he tries to learn more about her.
She needs to learn to get along with her alien captor if she wants to enjoy her freedom outside of a cage. He said he would help her, and she believed him so much that she questioned her feelings for an alien.
But will Jewel get what she wants in her new life? What do Kay’s people really want to do to her and the rest of the humans on Earth?

Two thumbs up
I was immediately drawn into this story and stayed hooked until the end. Jewel is a complex character - a loner, a strong woman, yet still struggling to find her place in life. When she's abducted by aliens, she faces a challenge she never expected and it tests parts of herself she was never aware of.
Kay is a sexy hero (for an alien LOL). He, too, is struggling with issues that impact his attraction to Jewel, a specimen added to his intergalactic zoological research project.
This story has well-written characters, an intriguing premise and strong emotional hooks. I really liked how different this book was from other sci-fi romance
Sophie James did a great job narrating the story. Smooth delivery and good characterization.

Intelligent Alien Abduction?
Ok, much better book than I thought it would be. Not simple alien abduction or romance. There’s intelligence and thoughtfulness put into its creation. The only off note is that Jule does not stand up for her right to her anger in Council for being inappropriately groped.
James does a creditable job with narration. I say again - you know you’ve got a good narrator/story combo when you forget about the narrator - they become background.

Maybe to much sifi for me
I thought I was Into sifi. And aliens was just my thing. And in alot of ways it was. there was Some good parts of this story. But at the same time there was something missing.
Some of the things that rubbed me the wrong way was. if u tell About how things work on the planet earth. It doesnt work if you only tell it out of an American pov. We dont all have our structure in Our contry that way. this might just be because I am not an American that I notticed this.
the narrator did a good job and had a Nice flow to her voice that made it easy to keep listening Even if the story wasnt 100% for me

Fun and Exciting
Alien Zookeeper is an intriguing and entertaining journey. I was amazed by the in-depth look into alien technology and the enthusiasm for strange, new world. It had a little of a Star Trek feel to it which helped to captivate my attention and capture my heart. What you find within these pages is a beautifully complex storyline mixed with amazing characters that you are given the privilege to experience and enjoy. I am a huge sci-fi junkie, so when you mix that with a wonderful romance, you will always have my full attention.
Nothing is as wonderful as getting to know characters that can’t help but draw you to them. There is a magic about it that speaks to my very soul. I found that and so much more within this fun story. When you have two characters who are looking for more in life, but are clueless on how to make the change themselves, you know you are in store for something big and pretty incredible. I was not disappointed in the least! This is a breath of fresh air with its meaty and gritty story that is shaped by characters that are jaded and yet hopeful. That in itself will have me dying to read it!
The narration is a masterful touch to this already stunning story. The characters are highlighted and brought to life like no words on a page can accomplish. This story will reach into your heart and trigger a change you never saw coming. What an unforgettable experience!!

Kidnapped by aliens
This was interesting. I want to say more about this story but I absolutely hate spoilers, so I won't do it to you by going into details. I wish we could give half stars I'd have given this a 3 1/2 stars.
The narrator brings the story to life.

This was a great listen with the surprising focus on more of the science and what accidental first contact might be like for us and them. This isn't straight romance or erotica, though it has parts of both. There is definitely a lot more reality in this book than what is usual for this genre and it is actually very refreshing.
This is my first book by Zara Zenia and I plan to check out her other work. I've listened to a lot of Juno Wells collaborations so I knew what to expect, but I really think this one was one of the pairings.

Will Keep You Entertained!
This is a great fantasy book! I absolutely loved this story! You can't imagine the world this story brings to life. The narration was superb and gave that extra flair to the story. It will keep you entertained. This was my first book by this author but definitely will not be my last. I will be reading the other books in this series. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great story and Great narration!
I love Zara Zenia's stories and I love her writing. Juno Wells is a new author to me. This is the first book in the Alien Abduction Series. This story is funny, entertaining and hot. I love the two main characters, Jewel and Kay. I also love all the scenery and the description of the habitats in the Diviner (ship). This story is so much more than what we can expect for this kind of stories. It's interesting, beautifully detailed and captivating. I'd love to listen to the next book in the Series. Sophie James has a soft voice and the narration was well done and easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review. I have read/listen this story.

A great Sci-fi Romance!!
What a Fascinating book. I loved the story line. This book combines romance, lots of wild action, Unique perspective alien abduction. An Alien zoo ship searching different planets for unique and Unusual animals to bring back to their culture for study. It’s a great story and I recommend to book to lovers of Sci-fi romances.

A good start
I like alien books, especially ones with big hunky aliens who abduct unsuspecting females. This seemed right up my alley. The premise of the story is original and has a good flow. My issue was connecting with the Hero. He was just so disconnected. Another miss for me was the chemistry, I just didn't really feel it. Again I think it's a good start to a series and hope the other characters have more spark.
