About this listen

In a dangerous time before her own...a dangerous attraction. Amelie Besson is on the cusp of attaining the life she’s dreamed of—until she finds herself stuck in pre-war France, fifty years before her time. The country is about to be under German rule, but her most immediate problem is Henri Durand, the arrogant and infuriatingly handsome vineyard owner upon whom her survival depends.

The fiercely protective Henri challenges everything Amelie holds true—particularly her hatred of the gift that brought her there in the first place. As the bond between them grows, Amelie will begin to wonder if the life she’s returning to is actually the one she wants, and if her connection to Henri might be strong enough to surmount any obstacle…even time itself.

Love this series so much!

I am so in love with this series. This story and the writing is so beautifully written. Do yourself a favor and grab this audiobook— we’ll possibly the whole series!! it’s quite addicting!!

Across time is story of Sarah who lives in New York City during 1987. She time travels to France in 1938 in search of a woman. She finds her and her brother Henri.

🎧 Audiobook is narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East in duet style! I loved their voices and accents in brining the characters to life in this story. So much love for this story and the audiobook is phenomenal!! I got so lost into this epic love story.

Lovely time travel story

This was my first book from this author so I wasn't sure what to expect but I truly was swept away by this story. Its sweet and charming and everything you want in a time travel story. You cant help but root for Henri and Amelia through out the story wanting them to make that connection since they have such great chemistry together. This book does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared to get the next book right away if you dont already have it.

Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor are two of my all time favorite narrators and they did such an amazing job on this book. I cant wait to listen to the next half of this story.

Destined to be together regardless of the time.

Audio Review:

Samantha Brentmoor and Shane East were phenomenal in audio book. It was beautiful, raw, filled with emotion and desire. Amelie and Henri are the perfect couple that is destined to be with one another without disregard of what the time traveling may do to the future and the past. They banter and try to resist one another, but what they want may be stronger than anyone can imagine. The writing was smooth and flawless and the narration was perfection. Absolutely amazing series.

Intriguing storyline

Narrated by Shane East and Samantha Brentmoor loved the accents, so good.

Time travel romance that gives Outlander vibes. It was an intriguing read I have never a story like this before the concept caught my attention. Watching it is one thing but listening without seeing the characters was different. Henri was not my fav in the beginning and his sister towards the end annoyed me which brings me to what happened leading to the cliffhanger

Fantastic story with amazing narration!

Time travel, romance, a bit of mystery tropes make this book amazing! This is outside my normal read but I fell in love with these characters and this story. Amelie is brave, troubled and determined to find the truth. Henri is a cad…love him - he is fiercely protective and brave. The dialogue, banter and tension between these two is fantastic! Samantha Brentmoor are two of my Favorite narrators. They deliver a phenomenal performance. No love the voice they gave to each character filled with emotion and personality. Looking forward to the text book to see what happens with Amelie and Henri.

Intriguing time travel romance

What a fresh and completely mesmerizing story! I’ve not read a ton of travel travel romance, but I loved the first two books in this world and was so excited to dive right into more. Across Time is a unique and entrancing story, one that deftly blends angsty enemies to lovers romance, historical fiction, romantic suspense, and a bit of sci-fi/magic. It’s intriguing and original, intricately and complexly told and full of layered and endearing characters.

A time traveler on an unclear mission to save another, an enemies to lovers slow burning romance that starts 50 years in the past during a time and place where truly no one would want to find themselves, and of course the mystery of just what the mission actually is and the time hopping prophecy- I mean it’s all so juicy! This certainly isn’t an easy love story- Amelie/Sarah and Henri have a tumultuous start as she crashes into his world, but from the start the tension is brimming. The banter, the push-pull, the buried emotions and fears. All are so delicious.

The story does start a bit slowly as Elle sets the stage, and Henri certainly isn’t likable out of the gate, but the characters are fascinating and the mystery/suspense side keeps the pages turning into the romance that starts to really blossom. But of course, this is a duet so we end on a cliffhanger that has you gasping for more. The story has so much emotional complexity and layers and twists that I can only imagine what’s in store. Fans of a Discovery of Witches or Outlander type vibes (with the back in time romance element) will certainly gobble this up- I know I did.

The audio for this was so well performed. Shane East always brings the best bravado and charisma, which fit perfectly for Henri, our British leading man who is mercurial alpha energy with protective condescension - but the best in Shane’s performance are the emotive notes as Henri starts to fall. Bringing new notes to Henri’s hesitations and struggles. And Samantha Brentmoor is always a favorite. She brings so much vulnerability and heart to her vocal performances, and as Amelie she really helped elevate the dualities and tensions that really drive so much of Amelie/Sarah’s story. I loved how easily she can be fierce and sassy but then also convey the lost brokenness in Amelia too. And given the heavily meta prose and the great banter Elle writes, the audio format really suited the story so well. I think it really enhanced the experience and certainly drew me deeper into this story.

I’m so blown away by this book!

5🌟

How can you not fall in love with Elizabeth’s beautiful storytelling? How can you not just sit there and cry because of her words and her characters being so amazing, that they bring out every emotion in you? It’s literally impossible.

This book, and this series is one that a.) you don’t want to miss out on, and b.) you NEED to listen to the audiobooks. Samantha Brentmoor gives her all into every book she narrates, and these are no exception. She is so emotive and makes her characters feel so tangible. It’s truly amazing to hear. Shane East narrates in duet with her in this, and let me tell you, that man made the perfect Henri. His performance was out of this world good. I can’t recommend the audios enough, I mean it with every breath in my lungs.

Sarah (Amelie) and Henri. 🥹
They have my whole heart, and their story is so beautiful, I can’t wait to see how it all concludes in Across Eternity. I just don’t want to leave this world, and these characters.. 🥲

Please read this series. Please listen to this series. Nothing could be more worth your time. 🥰

Time travel

Note: This is the third book in the series, and it ends on a cliffhanger (previous books don’t need to be read).

I don’t really read time travel novels, so this was a change for me, and I really enjoyed it.

Amelie found herself in France, a time before war struck. She was meant to save a woman, Marie, and she ended up meeting Marie’s brother, Henri.

The two of them clashed a lot, with Henri just wanting to protect his sister from any and all danger. But they had such great banter and so. much. chemistry.

There was an air of mystery and suspense as well, because something was going on, but Amelie didn’t exactly know what it was.

This ends on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next.

Duet narration:
Samantha Brentmoor is one of my favorite narrators, and she did a phenomenal job as not only Amelie, but Marie as well. Her French accent? So good. I often forgot it was just her narrating and not two narrators. Shane East did a fantastic job as well. He had a great accent, and he was perfect for the voice of Henri.
