About this listen
Lorelai has always been drawn to the dark and strange, spending her days exploring the silence of the graveyard. But one evening, her fascination takes a chilling turn when she encounters the enigmatic Bone King, the ruler of the dead—a haunting figure who seems to understand her in ways the living never could.
Caught between worlds, Lorelai is torn when Westley Harper, a stubborn young bachelor from the city refuses to take no for an answer. At first, she dismisses him as a man too bound by logic to appreciate her morbid interests and obsession with the hereafter. Yet as Westley’s charm begins to work its way into her heart, she realizes there may be more than one kind of enchantment that entices her.
In a world where life and death compete for her devotion, Lorelai must decide where her heart—and fate—truly belong.

Story
Monsters. I’ve routinely hunted them my entire life, wanting to wipe their kind from this realm. My deadly accurate aim has kept me alive this long. Until now. I miss a shot for the first time and come face to face with my targets. I should have died. Instead, these creatures drag me back to their land and hold me captive. Wes—the commanding demon in charge. Bo—the sadistic alpha. Dash—I don’t know what he is, but he’s too cheery for this realm.

Story
Hood's Caper: Blanche Hood managed to evade the Red-Cap curse as a teen when she didn't fall for the huntsman or get eaten by the wolf. But looks like the curse is revving up for another try, and this time it's out for blood. Her blood. Cinder's Trial: Cinder thought she'd beaten the Grimm Effect when she ditched the old man who kept chasing her at the ball. However, decades later, her fairy godmother pops back in for round two. No thanks. Belle's Quest: Belle is determined to be the one who ends the Grimm Effect but in a hairy twist, the evil magic fights back and turns her into the beast.

Story
He is a sinner and never a saint. His words drip with lust. His touch... sinful. That is what girls whisper after one night with him. He even has scratches to prove it. He is powerful, dangerous, and never backs down from a challenge. The pawn? The new girl. He can smell her innocent nature like a piranha smelling blood and won't be satisfied until he has a taste. The problem? He isn't the only one who wants it.

Amazing!
This book absolutely has a part of me left inside of it pages! This book will draw you in and not let you go until you finish it! The narrator does an amazing job of portraying all of the characters emotions feelings, and how the characters interact!
I loved seeing the discussion of multiple topics that can be a little much for some readers or listeners depend on if you reading the novella or listening to the audiobook. Though you will succumb to this world and get lost inside of the pages! Amanda does an amazing job of portraying the characters emotions through different verbiage. That really puts you there with them. You feel like you’re part of the story in a way!

Beautiful
The disclaimer at the beginning of the audiobook was perfection. Letting the listener/reader know what to expect is much appreciated.
The story itself is heart-wrenchingly beautiful. The narrator tells the story in a way that draws you into the characters' feelings and emotions. She was a perfect match for Amanda's writing and storytelling.
Amanda crafted a world that draws you in and doesn't let you go. It isn't just a love story or a romance, but a story about love. There are so many types of love felt within the pages/words that you're sure to find yourself relating to, and feeling, what the characters are going through. The giddiness and excitement of a new love, the playfulness of immature love, the comfort of the love of a parent/caregiver.
The story pulls at your heartstrings as the characters weigh their decisions and what those decisions mean for those they care about. Death, time, and the afterlife are described and discussed in an incredibly touching manner. As someone who lost a loved one who was on borrowed time, I couldn't help but be comforted by the way Death was personified. You would think a story involving such a seemingly macabre topic would be dark, but instead, it is full of hope, light, warmth, and love.
This book will be with me for a long time, and I plan to revisit it often.

Dark & Dreamy
This is out of the norm for my usual reading habits but I absolutely devoured it! Amanda Cessor writes the Bone King as a captivating character, one to choose to love. I absolutely adored this depiction of him and how he's been known by so many names and depicted in so many different ways. I'd choose him over Wesley too, especially in the original version! I loved this.
Fans of Corpse Bride might love this!

Multi Leveled Thought Provoking Words, Expertly Narrated.
Some books are better then other books. This is one of the better ones.
On its most visible surface, it's a love story. A story about a woman who has choices to make. (Or, does she?) Yes, one of her suitors is a bit unconventional, but to her, that's not really a factor. (Or is it?)
Then, there are the stories that fall beneath the surface, the questions it asks and makes us ponder. Free will? Predetermination? What's next? What was before?
Amanda Cessor has beautifully written a small gem of love and loss, of hope and despair, of mourning and happiness.
What elevates the novella to another level is the narrator, Bonnie Walsh. Her lush voice, her tones and personality give voice to a variety of characters in a most spectacular way. I got lost in her voice and carried away to a new world.
This combination of writer and narrator is special. I, for one, certainly hope they pair up again in future projects.
